I am now a Bluegrass CDL Academy graduate and I can say with confidence this was hands down the best choice. The company is privately owned so not only do they teach you everything you need to obtain your CDLs but they will go the extra mile to ensure that you understand and become comfortable with driving the big rigs. The instructors are great and encourage you to help them help you. The have their own yard, six trucks (mostly manuals with one being an automatic) and the yard is laid out exactly as it is when you go to test on your test date. "Back in March I came to Bluegrass CDL Academy. The only thing I knew about a truck is that I wanted to learn to drive one. My first couple of weeks were difficult. Nothing made sense and I wasn't getting it. BUT I kept going every morning and doing what the instructors told me to do. Matt, Buck, Steve, Ralph, and Robert kept working with me even when I was frustrated and seriously annoyed lol. I tested out with the state for my CDL yesterday. Twice during my maneuvers my nerves got the best of me and I was in danger of failing. I focused on the techniques I learned at the academy to recover and get that truck where it needed to be. Matt, and the other guys, always said to just listen to them, and learn/do what they said to. I did that and it was the difference between a fail and a pass yesterday. I'm very thankful to all of them at Bluegrass CDL (including Sue, the owner). My experience there was a very good one."
