Shawnee Trail Apartments

"I'm gonna write this review simply to counter the others. I've been a resident here for more than 5 years, and have only had a handful of problems. But most of them were because of my own wrongdoing, such as leaving the trash out. I've noticed that a lot of the time, there is a lot of misunderstanding, or someone that did wrong, and did not expect there to be consequences. If you read everything, and understand everything, you'll be just fine. But most of the more recent reviews are just people getting mad they got caught doing something they shouldn't have. I can't specifically say what all they have done for me, but I can say that for a first time tenant living on my own, they have helped me out in more ways than one. One thing I'm very grateful about is that, while some outcomes were not what I expected, they are very respectful of me as a tenant, and have pushed heaven and earth to make sure I stay comfortable where I live, and if they don't, they are very transparent in their explanation when it comes to why they haven't gotten around to getting the job done. They want to help, they want to make sure you're alright, but it takes meeting in the middle to get what you're wanting done. All it takes is following the rules, staying in your lane, do what you're supposed to do, not what you aren't, and you'll be just fine. Great first time place to live in. Kinda sad I'll be leaving next year. (Strictly for personal reasons.)"

"Probably the worst place I’ve ever lived, they will scam you however they can to make you pay a late fee. They reject our payment almost every month and only tell us an hour before they charge us the late fee so we don’t have enough time to turn it in a different way. They have rejected our online payments, checks, bank accounts, whatever way we have tried to pay they eventually tell us they won’t accept it anymore. At this point we are going to have to pay extra just to use our cards to pay rent. With an abundance of other issues I would only recommend this place to people who are able to drop what their doing whenever Shawnee calls because otherwise you’re going to be cheated out of your money. ETA: They told me that I couldn’t use MY account, but have for whatever reason also rejected my boyfriends for no reason without giving us notice. My bank was having issues, but I haven’t used my account to pay since our 1st/2nd month living there and have only paid through my boyfriend. I’m pretty sure they even said they could use my boyfriends still and yet here we are."

"My fiance and I just moved out after living in a 1 bedroom in Shawnee Trail for two years. I feel like we couldn't have picked a better place to live for our first two years in Richmond and only decided to move because we needed more space. There are several apartment complexes in this rent range in Richmond, but Shawnee Trail is by far the best maintained. The staff ensures that common areas look nice and are free from trash and debris. We had no maintenance issues during our two years and I believe it is because management performs routine maintenance (which they're really good about communicating to you ahead of time) that keeps the apartments in good shape. We always felt safe in the community and didn't have any issues with our neighbors. We never had any issues with bugs or other pests (which was amazing because I've dealt with that in past apartments). My fiance really enjoyed the fitness center, which is spacious and has plenty of equipment to get a good workout. We also loved the location-- it is close to downtown Richmond and also easy to get to I-75. Tiffany and Melissa were always kind, attentive, and honest when we needed help with anything. If you're looking for an affordable apartment in Richmond, Shawnee Trail is definitely the best option!"

"I lived here for a year (college student) and Loved it!! They have some of the best staff and worked with me the whole time! All the bad reviews on here are people that more then likely being Karen’s or not reading the lease. If you read your lease, follows their rules, and are nice you will absolutely love being here! The only downside I found from living here is sometimes I could hear my neighbors throw the walls, but everything else out weights this in my opinion. If you are look for a nice and safe place to stay this is it! Oh, and they will alway tried to find way to save you money!"
