"I do absolutely love my apartment & the community. There are only a few draw backs, the parking is horrible especially if you're handicap & there is not 1 ramp into the building. Also if you are having guest or food delivered, be prepared to head outside. There is no access on the property ... kinda a blessing and a curse. One thing that is the worst for someone with limited mobility is the trash is across the street in the gated parking lot. With no ramp areas this has made it where I have to bother friends to come help me with my trash going out."
"My time as a resident in this community was hampered by a few things. Please consider these before becoming a tenant: -The neighborhood is considered a high crime neighborhood. Cars windows are frequently broken out on the street and some cars have been stolen from the street. The gated parking lot is not large enough to accommodate all residents. -With St. John Center a block away to the left and the Goodwill outreach center a block to the right, this neighborhood is home to a significant number of unhoused people. You will frequently see tents set up, people sleeping in camping bags and pushing carts, and garbage thrown about. -The fire alarm system in the church portion of the building is EXTREMELY sensitive. If one unit trips it the alarms go off everywhere and the fire department has to come to shut it off. It’s so sensitive I inadvertently set it off with a blow dryer doing my hair. It goes off about once a week. -There are several units that serve as Airbnbs on the property. The guests take up parking, are loud, bring loud children and animals, drag their suitcases up and down the stairs at odd hours, and constantly need assistance getting into the building and finding their unit. The walls here a very thin so count on being able to hear them. -Because of the key fob requirement it is almost impossible to get packages delivered here. Every time I order something it takes an extra week to be delivered and several phone calls to UPS/Fedex/amazon. Sometimes the packages are just returned to the shipper. -They will SIGNIFICANTLY increase your rent when it is time for renewal."
"Michelle was very helpful and accommodating . We have to transfer to another unit due to some issues in our apartment and she has been really helpful transferring us to another unit. Very great customer service. Ken was also great helping us with maintenance issues."
"RUN. literally the WORST management. moved into my place with a whole list of repairs needing done to the place, bathroom and kitchen, it was DIRTY, gas wasn’t working, a/c needs a new unit, and there was a leak under the sink that i waited two weeks to get repaired along with mold that came from it. also HOLES in my floor from past water damage before i moved in and was told there would be new flooring, well that apparently wasn’t promised to me and they still didn’t bother to repair it. been moved in two weeks now and still waiting on my floor to be fixed and currently sitting in a 75 degree apartment because they haven’t seemed to get around to fix my air.. it’s literally not even the peak of summer yet. i wish i chose a different place to live. they still haven’t gave me an answer to why they let me move into a unit that wasn’t ready. they just want your money."
"I lived here for two years in two different units. I was moving to Kentucky with no idea where to live and Mahogany made sure to get me into the unit ASAP and worked with my timeline. My first unit was small (I also might just have too much stuff), but brand new and overlooked the courtyard. They then helped me move into a 2 bedroom that I absolutely loved (also overlooked the courtyard). The windows and natural light is the best part!! The only drawback was the kitchen didn’t have a dishwasher (due to it being too small) and wasn’t updated like my first apartment but the space and location in the building was what sold me. The rooms were a good size and my unit had an indent in the hall that I used to put bookcases in. Suzanne the property manager is always incredibly helpful and maintenance is incredibly friendly and responds to requests pretty promptly (although I think in the entirety I lived there I asked for maintenance 3 times). You can walk to Nulu, also close to the Highlands too. I just moved out and they also made that process super easy. They have Nests in all the apartments and you literally never run out of hot water. Highly recommend this place as the apartments are affordable, updated and the space is great. Only reason I moved out was due to relocation to another city. Also WiFi is included and is surprisingly really good (I work from home)!!"
