"Beware of you are returning a Penske truck to this location. There isn’t one in Owensboro, which is why I selected this location as the drop-off. I returned on the expected date (after-hours). I filled out the paperwork with the appropriate dates, left the paperwork in the vehicle and dropped the key. We had some bad weather coming in later that night and I didn’t want to be driving a 26-ft Penske truck in snow/ice. I did try calling two times on Monday but no answer. Three days later I get a call from Vanessa at the Pool Medic letting me know they were closed Monday and Tuesday and asking which day I actually returned it. I gave her the day and she said that she didn’t notice it until a day or two after the date I gave her. I assured her that the paperwork will reflect the correct drop off date and that I was being truthful. She said she’d check with her boss and see the security footage, to which I said is fine because I have no reason to lie or hide anything about this. She was very accusatory over the phone, but again I figured the footage would be checked and the accusation would be cleared up. WRONG. An hour later I get an email from Penske saying I had been charged for an additional day. After returning it on time, going down the check-in checklist and trying (unsuccessfully) to establish contact with the Pool Medic to let them know I would be dropping the truck off after hours, I was penalized because of their disorganization. If the key box was checked each day, they would have certainly seen my keys in there the next morning. I understand extenuating circumstances, but assuming that I am lying and then charging me for your negligence is not a good way of doing business. Believe these businesses when they show you how they are going to treat you and make decisions on who you partner with accordingly. Thankful for Nick at the Penske regional office in Bowling Green for refunding the overcharge."
