Reviews of Alvin Learning Tree Academy and Daycare
"Actually my First Family daycare business they made me feel comfortable. really clean, really friendly , really respectful. Teachers are awesome and respectful in every aspects. Like how they took good care of my Daughter. I really recommend their center."
"I have my children at this daycare for 1 year now and Alvin Learning Tree is a wonderful daycare, the director and staff are very nice and caring and I can call at anytime and they will always respond. They are very adamant on the children learning. They have a very structured curriculum which is what impressed me very much when I went for the walk through. My 2 year old can count to 20 now and he knows his colors, abc and is starting to learn his shapes. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone with hands down. They are small and do not have over crowded classrooms the teachers are able to spend one on one time with the children. The owner is hands on and very active with the children and treats them as if they are her own."
"This will be a long read. My son came here once when he was about 12weeks old and then we ended up stopping daycare because all the covid stuff started. Fast forward to today, he’s now 9 months old and we were ready to start daycare again. The once nice thing was, even though so much time had passed, they still considered him to be enrolled and took him back no problem. However, I made some phone calls to them over this last week to get info and spoke to a couple different people, but always let them know that I was bringing him up for a half day today as a practice run and wanted to visit with him there before leaving him. Not once did anyone say I would not be able to come inside to drop my child off. So I was caught off guard and emotional when dropping him off, though I understand with all the covid stuff going on. I still felt terrible leaving my child with strangers that he doesn’t remember and not being able to be there with him while he adjusted to his new surroundings. The girl that checked him in offered me her number so I could check in on him and she said she could send pictures or we could video call. I asked her if she could send me some pictures of him in a little bit (but that never happened, nor did she answer my text when I asked how he was doing). I left my son there for about 6 hours and he is not yet able to crawl but he can sit up on his own And he loves standing/cruising and I made sure to tell them that since she didn’t really ask anything about what he likes to do, what milestones he has hit, etc. I spent a majority of those 6 hours watching the camera like a hawk. I noticed he appeared to be the youngest or one of the youngest children in the room and seemed to be ignored the most as well. The teacher was too busy chasing all the other babies around that could crawl or walk and wasn’t really paying any attention to him. One of the biggest things that upset me was they laid him down for his nap on his belly instead of on his back. We always lay him down on his back for safe sleep and he has yet to roll over on his own. Then at one point she plopped him down in a pink play car (that he had already been put in for quite a while earlier) and he sat there in it for an hour upset and was only picked up one time during that hour (and that happened to be the exact moment I called for an update) and they changed his diaper and put him right back in that car. So he pretty much either sat in a high chair, on the floor or in that stupid car and was not given near the amount of attention the other children were. I rarely saw him held and I never saw them try to help him walk, crawl or stand or do anything different other than sit around. There was maybe a total of an hour and a half he was there I didn’t watch the camera (mostly when he napped) so maybe I missed it, but I doubt it. There were also many times it was 6 babies to 1 teacher And while the director informed that “she can legally do that” I felt that the teacher was overwhelmed and not able to give those children and my child the full attention and care they needed. Mrs Gina urged me to call her when I notice an issue like that but I shouldn’t have to be calling up there complain about my son being ignored and not taught or played with productively. The look on my child’s face when I first saw him at pick up broke my heart. He looked completely miserable and was so tired from crying. I will not be taking him back. I will look for a place that will give him more one on one time and actually put effort into teaching and playing with him."
"I have three kids that attend including one with special needs and I am thankful for everything they have done. The director is responsive if any concerns arise and take the time to understand the childs needs and will work with you on the best fit for the child."
"Do NOT take your children to this daycare. I enrolled my son and he was hit by a teacher on his head. He is now severely traumatized and cannot even sleep in his own bed because he thinks the mean teacher is coming to hit him. Want to know why he was hit? He was digging for rollie pollies and the teacher got upset with him. Not only did she hit him but she also put him in time out. Which is against childcare licensing. Extremely poor quality in teachers and all staff including the owners. The director defended the teacher at fault. Most staff are young kids who do not know how to do their jobs properly. Always sitting on the playground while the kids play when they should be interacting with them! This happened every time I picked him up. I would give zero stars if possible. *Edit* Please read the time stamps of reviews. Out of no where they get positive reviews in detail about the staff and center when NO ONE has said that before. Seems very odd. My child is now in counseling due to the severity of his trauma. It has all been reported to the authorities and Alvin Learning Tree is under current investigation. Which you can see online fyi should you wish to look it up."
