Reviews of Norton Children's | Neurology
"Let me start by saying Dr. Karakas is amazing! He receives 5 stars. However, the nursing staff you call to ask a question are very rude, dismissive, and acts as though you're bothering them. I called in regards to numerous test for my son being low and flagged on my chart. She cut me off before I could finish my question. Dismissed my concerns (although the test were taken by the doctors for the same concern). They truly need to get better nurses. The front end staff are amazing though!"
"I am extremely disgusted at the fact that this office has demanded that I stop advocating for my son!! I am being silenced as his caregiver and this office refuses to speak to me regarding his needs at school! I have been told that the school needs to reach out to them directly! This cuts me as his PARENT completely out of the conversation and takes away any ability that I would have to speak up for him at all! How is this even following HIPPA in the slightest when my son and I have had our voice removed from the conversation?! I won't even be able to know what is being sent or said because I am cut out! This office has basically said that if the school chooses not to accommodate his needs then they are not to be bothered with it any more! I don't even know that they would send anything else of the school did reach out to them! But as the parent either way I should be a part of that conversation and be able to advocate for my childs needs!! And for them to refuse to send requested documents for the purpose of ensuring his care is sickening!!! So who is at fault if he is not getting what he needs because of documents that have been requested not being sent?? Who is at fault for his lack of care then? Who would be at fault for the negligence causing him issues? They feel that they have put too much work into this issue because they keep sending information?! I am the one that is involved in the entire day to day life! But THEY are being too bothered by this???"
"NEW UPDATE in the 2y since thus was posted, ive figured out why ive had problems and they habe been MOSTLY resolved. My sons neuro is AWESOME. Its the staff that is the problem. HORRIBLE! Ive delt with them for 4y now for my kid. His PCP even has issues getting calls returned. If i ask questions, im not taken seriously. It takes WEEKS to get an EEG. Im STILL waiting on a referral to indy a YEAR later. Ive had nurses argue with me over the phone leaving me intimidated. Ive had appointments canceled or MOVED and not told (like in july i was told he had an apt in feb yet i was told on the phone 1m earlier it was in january). If i could find a NEW neuro for him i would!"
"This office was quick to get us in for his initial appointment and quick to schedule his first EEG. His second EEG that was overnight at the hospital someone was supposed to call me and set it up. So much time went by (about 2/3 weeks from when I was told they would be calling) I had to reach out to them to make sure they didnt forget about us. Someone did call me back that same day with an appointment so it does seem like they forgot but Im glad they quickly got it together. After his test results came back abnormal they got us back in the office within 2 days and the Dr. Spine was very patient with our son all over the room while she was trying to examine him, explaining his diagnosis and answering all of our questions. So far we are pleased."
"My daughter's physician referred her here. I have been trying to call for 2 days to make an appointment as directed by my physician, if they didn't contact me within a week (and... they didn't. Imagine that!) However, I've tried calling them 2 days in a row now with no answer. It's funny, though, because I called my doctor's office and explained the situation to them because I didn't know what to do. The receptionist from my doctor's office called and they answered for her, no problem, because the receptionist had me on hold while she tried to call them. Maybe they somehow know when it's a doctor's office calling vs. just patients and answer calls selectively?? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Just inferring from evidence. Get it together, UofL. May update review later, depending on how my appointment goes... if I ever get one scheduled. At least they answered the phone for Ms. Victoria below me."
