Established in 1982, this locally owned and operated store is a hidden gem just off the drag, across the street from Breed & Co. Tiffany and Jason took over the store in 2011 and have been running it with passion ever since.

At Junior's Beer & Wine, you'll find a diverse selection of great beers, with a focus on craft beers, especially those brewed locally in Texas. If you have a specific beer in mind that you don't see on our shelves, just let us know and we'll do our best to bring it in for you.

The history of Junior's Beer & Wine adds to its charm, with the original owner, Junior, starting the business in 1982 and building the iconic red shack with a friend. The store has evolved over the years, selling not only beer and wine but also ice and bio-gas fuel at one point. Today, the store is dedicated to providing a wide variety of craft beers and exceptional customer service, treating every customer like a friend or family member. "Junior's Beer & Wine is an Austin institution. It's the go to place to get kegs and to sample beers. They know their beers. I've been here since 1984 and truly it's the original home of the mixed 6-pack (in spite of what those jokers on Duval/45th say). Try 6 new beers, anything on the shelf (not just a few from those you don't want) - affordably - and come back for the ones you like. It's a good group that cares about beer and has long history here. Drop in and Jason will take care of your beverage needs. It's been under a few owners since Junior died (back in the early 80s - find the Austin Chronicle story) but always THE place to get beer. And get your keg there. I always have. No place else to go."
