"Wall manor is a beautiful Victorian mansion combining the authenticity of a historical home with modern creature comforts creating a fantastic experience. The host, Mr. Frederic, is a brilliant and welcoming individual. He's also a grade A chef as well. The beds are very comfortable with down pillows and thick comforters. The bathroom upstairs features a large tub and a spacious shower. I would highly recommend this for couples looking for a romantic step back in time."
"Beautiful bed and breakfast. The host is very kind. The breakfast was delicious. If we are ever this way again, we will definitely stay here!"
"As someone who loves Victorian fashion and history, Wall Manor was an amazing experience. It is truly a gem in southern Illinois. Fredrick was a great host. The house was grand. I hope to come back some day!"
"What a find! A friend and I had business in this remote part of southern Illinois, so I looked for a bed and breakfast. For not much more than the price at a run-of-the-mill motel, we stayed in Victorian luxury. Every single item has a story. The proprietor, Mr Medler, shared his vast knowledge on a variety of subjects (architecture, history, geography, economy, and feral cats, to name a few) and even gave us a tour of nearby Cairo (pronounced "Karo" by locals) where the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers meet. Probably not a good place for a family with young children, but a delightful get- away for history buffs and romantics."
"We were on a long drive recently and stopped for the night, on Christmas eve. It was a magical place for all of us, adults and kids alike. The house is old and beautiful. The outside was illuminated with tiny moving stars, the interiors were decorated festively, and we were welcomed warmly. Our bedrooms turned out to be quite fabulous and impressive, and the breakfast was ample and delicious. Our host, a retired architect with a lifelong passion for old buildings, went out of his way, truly, to make us comfortable."
