"Love this park and lake. We have camped here several times and absolutely love it. However, be prepared that if you bring a camper you will need to bring extra leveling blocks. None of the spots are level front to back or left to right. Our last spot we had three feet of leveling blocks under the jack and the jack was all the way extended. Restrooms leave a bit to be desired but what state parks doesn't."
"We've been camping here of and on for years. The equine sites are the best! We always have a great time, workers are friendly, and washers and dryers always work."
"I had the pleasure of staying at Pennyrile Forest Campground during the Labor Day weekend, and it was truly an enjoyable experience. The campground offers a variety of activities at the scenic beach adjacent to the lake, complete with a convenient concession stand for your refreshment needs. Additionally, they provide rental services for kayaks and boats, ensuring there's always an abundance of recreational options. I personally opted for camping, but it's worth noting that they have a lodge with commendable dining options, and I found the meals quite satisfying. Moreover, the presence of a pool adds to the overall allure of the facility. However, I must highlight one minor drawback: the cleanliness of the bathrooms in the camping area left something to be desired. While not the most unsanitary facilities I've encountered, there is room for improvement in terms of maintenance and cleanliness."
"Nasty, very dirty bath facilities. Been here 2 days. Waste baskets not emptied. Bugs, dirt and cobwebs in corners. Sites are not level. If you stay here bring your levelers. Sites are very small. Lodge restaurant is barely open. Country store on site is not really a store. Will never stay here again and definitely not recommend"
