Reviews of The Children's Courtyard on West Valley Ranch
"My child was originally at Valley Ranch then we moved to Plano now back to Valley Ranch and I wish I would have never moved her. The teachers are so loving and caring, the kids have all day activities, from arts and crafts to reading and dancing."
"I wouldn’t recommend this daycare to my worst enemy. Some of the staff members are so sweet but others clearly shouldn’t be allowed to work with children. My son was 6 when he went here and an older girl tried to pull his pants down to touch him, was also informed she’s tried to do this to others. The daycare had me sign an incident report but didn’t give it to me for weeks, they also said they reported it but was informed nothing was mentioned until I called the state."
"My child attended this day care for almost a year. At first things were going great they had great teachers. They began brining in new teachers and would value them over the teachers had been there longer and were truly great. After a few months from being there things began to worsen when the teachers I trusted were not there. I was glad I had access to the camera at all times to look after my child. I witnessed one of the new teachers be extremely rough with my child who was then about 7 months old. She tried to force feed my child with a bottle even though she showed she was not interested. I was horrified by what I witnessed and spoke to the teacher directly and expressed my concerns. This teacher forced my child and every child there to take a nap and let them cry for a long period of time. I picked up my child one day and she had a big mark in her chin that did not look like a scratch from another baby. I asked the same teacher what had happened and she just stuttered and couldn’t explain to me what had happened. There was no incident report so I took it upon my self to tell management. They did nothing to her but make an incident report themselves stating that they are not sure what had happened. I then explained to them that I had had issues with this teacher before and told them what she had done. The director simply told me that she could not do nothing about because I had not told her when it happened. Another month went by and as I was watching my child I witnessed this same teacher force feed a an 11 month old that was no longer wanting to eat. She grabbed his food from his plate and shoved her index finger down his throat with food. I was an absolute shock and called the school and told them to remove my child from that room and explained to her what happened. Nothing was done to this teacher and later found out that she was friends with the director. Other mothers shared their concerns and many have left this daycare recently including myself. They don’t have many teachers that last and there is an inconstancy with who watches after your child. I would not take a child to this facility if they can not speak and tell you what is going on. I feared for my child’s safety on the daily basis. I could not keep myself from watching the cameras. They were neglectful to my child and to other children there. The director and assistant did nothing to make me feel at ease. The assistant was extremely rude towards me after I went to pick up the reminder of my child’s items. The director and assistant are very unprofessional."
"This Daycare/Preschool doesn’t give respect to their good Teachers. Some Teachers are really good , doing their job best way.But Management doesn’t support them when there need end they throw them. I took my daughter admission almost 8 months ago, she doesn’t get adjusted easily if Teacher is not good. But luckily her Teacher we found out really good within a week my daughter started liking her. Everything was going great, even each Parent appreciates Teacher effort. My daughter everyday learned something new and come home will tried to utter new new words.I was happy. Suddenly without proper notice ,Management replaced that Teacher with a new one. Who doesn’t have any experience. From there it’s a roller coaster ride for each kid. We tried to bring this to Management, still their attitude same. Old Teacher they want to throw out without any reason. I will move my Daughter to other place ASAP bcoz in this scenario, I am noticing kids behavior changing like anything. This is one of the incident, I have seen many Teacher who did good they thrower them out within this 8 months from other classes."
"My child has been attending The Children’s Courtyard at Valley Ranch for almost two years. I was very pessimistic at first due to the poor experiences we had at the previous day care. However, I can say that switching my child to this facility has been the best decision we’ve made. Of course, like any other child care, there have been some accidents. However, the director Marsha does an excellent job at resolving any issues that may arise. The teachers that our son has had this far (Chastity & Amanda) have been so patient, caring and kind. I recently switched jobs and I make a 30-minute drive daily but, it’s worth knowing my child is in caring hands. We can tell he loves going, has fun and is so advanced in learning."
