"I don't know what the lady's name is that works at the front desk with short hair, but she is SO rude. I was trying to ask her about a new sign in sheet for dance, and I also had questions about if other sports had the same sign in policy, and instead of standing there and talking to me she walked away and went into the office, blowing me off. She said that was up to the "sports director". It seems like every day there's a new "rule". As far as the "sports director", Amanda, you're ruining the YMCA sports program. If you're thinking about enrolling your child into soccer just know that they won't have uniforms for half of the season, they won't paint lines on or mow the grass at the Y and theres never a referee there. There's always an excuse. Amanda keep your grubby hands out of the dance program before you destroy that too. Last year you told me you had "nothing to do with dance" and now you're all up in it. Just stop. Do better. Get better employees that don't blow off your members. We want to know where all the money is going for sports. It's not just me, its many parents I've talked to. It seems as though someone may be ripping the Hopkinsville Y off. Just saying."
"I just moved back to Hoptown after 20 years. I have been a gym member since the 70’s. I most recently had a membership in the Jefferson Co Y, which has much better equipment and a steam room. Hoptown Y seriously needs an update. The cable weight equipment is pitiful. It is very difficult to put a lock on the lockers. I was expecting more activities for seniors. This Y needs to catch up, it could be so much more than it is."
"Look at reviews ... if your not rich, or good old boy... your gonna get targeted... especially if your black... obviously I'm not black ... but I don't turn blind eye. If you want these people to push yall out of town with "there" money smarten up. You would think those senior citizens in the morning there at the gym that goes to church would be more welcoming... Well hallelujah to you too.."
"Today I went to the Hopkinsville, KY YMCA. The people at the desk were kind and allowed me and my two guest to get a guest pass. We went to the gym to coach one of our kids who play basketball. For the first 8 minutes we were having an amazing time. I noticed that chairs were set up in the gym with speakers. I didn’t see anyone and Inobody at the desk informed me of a class. I looked up and realized that there was a class with people starting to come in. I saw an older lady walking towards us and I asked if they were doing a class. She informed that there was a class and that we need to get out of the gym. I told her I wish I would have known that. I paid $30 to be a guest at this gym. She said in a rude tone that it is not her problem. In the same tone she informed me that she’s been doing a class in the gym at that time for a year and that if I have a problem with it, I need to take it up with the people at the desk because it is not her problem. An employee who works at the YMCA spoke to me like this in front of my family. I went to the desk and got a refund and explained her rudeness. Because I respect my elders and I am a man of God, I chose not to respond with the same level of disrespect although I was very enraged. I want the YMCA in Hopkinsville, KY to understand that I will never attend another YMCA due to this experience. You could not pay me. My family will not be attending either. If I’m asked, I will inform others of this experience. There is never a reason that an employee working for the YMCA should be so brash and disrespectful. She should be fired. I bet nothing will happen. Obviously, she hasn’t been held accountable for her actions because one of the managers stated that she’s done this before. Your facility in my opinion doesn’t deserve a single star. This is not an environment that people will feel comfortable attending when there are rude people such as she working there. I am also a veteran who just retired after 23 years of Active duty and 7 deployments. What did I do to deserve her rudeness. I am considering contacting your corporate office. Fix this. In fact, I will."
