Yes, they do train future doctors but that should be expected at University of Kentucky. No, the shots don't last forever but for 2-3 months I am pain free. It's better than going under the knife for me."

"I had one appointment at this pain clinic for severe chronic back pain. They prescribed me a pain medicine for once a day at 50 mg, a very small amount which was fine. I month later I received a letter saying that I tested positive for a drug that I’ve never heard of and have never taken and never will. I tried to call to clarify the mistake and ask them to do a repeat on the urine analysis and return my to return my calls. They never responded and said that I cannot come back. I do not even want my pain medicine, I just want this clarified that I have never taken an opioid and I have contacted my attorney to file a lawsuit against them."

"I went there for pain. Cyst on spine. I have had two shots for pain in last 8 yrs. Went to this clinic to see about getting another shots. The pain starts gradually at the base of my spine. If I let it go without shots the pain gets worse and overtime I can't walk or straighten up. They told me insurance would not cover it. I called back and they said they were working on something else to get it approved. Heard nothing called back left message. Now 4 weeks ago and no call back. Called insurance and according to them the clinic never called or sent in paper work. So now I am in extreme pain and can't walk very far. Would not recommend this place."

"My primary physicians tried for months to refer me to a pain clinic, after 8 months it was either go to a pain clinic for help or have my arm amputated the pain was unbearable. I chose UK Interventional Pain Associates because I have several health issues, my primary physician and specialist are at UK therefore the pain clinic would have access to all my medical records. I had no issues with the staff or physicians. I was seen timely, treated very well. However now I question everything at this clinic. I was seen seen the first week of August all went well they added a muscle relaxer in addition to pain medication and sent me on my way with a follow up visit 10.1.18. On Aug. 24 I received a letter dated 8/6/18 discharging me from their clinic for two reasons 1-tested positive for methadone 2-for not improving..... First) I don't take methadone and don't know anyone who takes methadone. Second) as for not improving...I must disagree, I see immunology, pulmonary specialist at least monthly at UK hosp. Because I see the pain doctors I'm able to keep those appointments, before I would have to reschedule until I was having a deceit day. These specialist have cut down on my inpatient stays in the hospital. How is it not physician abandonment to mail a dear John letter to a chronically I'll patient. I know they have regulatory hoops to jump thru but don't they have ethics that patient care must come before regulatory issues. Very dishearten & disappointed in the whole process."
