"This place was amazing and im forever grateful. I was in PHP and IOP here, and was in IOP here twice before i got sent off to the hospital and residential, and when I came back they were here for me. I am forever grateful for my therapists. Dr. Alex is the BOMB my queen "
"They’re fine for ED therapy, but they really don’t seem to care about real life schedules. IOP is from 10-1. When you’re a working parent, how on earth are you supposed to get your person to and from during “typical” work day hours?!? How about something more reasonable, like 8-12, so that people can drop off and pick up on their way to work and at lunch time. Common sense might be useful here!!"
"I finally gathered up the courage to call to discuss treatment options. The lady I spoke to did not greet me or ask anything about my case before loudly proclaiming "WE DON'T TAKE INSURANCE AND THE FIRST APPOINTMENT WILL COST A MINIMUM OF $350.00" at me. I was taken aback that someone seeking mental health services from the only eating disorder clinic in the city would be treated so rudely and dismissively on a initial intake call. I chose not to move forward with the Center because of this interaction and based on the other reviews, I am not alone."
"I just want to say I was on the phone with the little girl scheduling a first time appointment, and at first I was upset that it took a little while for anyone to get back to me. She apologized to me, said there were staffing issues, and that she had just gotten back from having open heart surgery. She then proceeded to listen to all of the concerns I had for my daughter, she was very compassionate and patient. We have not had our first appointment yet but I hope the therapist here are as kind as she was. A great first impression!"
"This place saved my life. I walked in with no expectations and a whole lot of attitude. I convinced myself that they had no idea what they were doing and that I was unhelpful. I fought them every step of the way and if I wasn't challenging them, I was trying to change the rules. I worked with Kristina and brodrick. The fight that these two had for me was unbelievable. Eventually I realized that after having bulimia for over 20 years that my way wasn't working. Once I let my wall down and let my therapist in, I started making progress. No matter what I did I was met with compassion, kindness, and understanding. My therapist was my voice of logic and reasoning until I found it within myself. Overall, it was an amazing experience. All of the yelling, screaming, manipulation, tears, and the anxiety, it was all worth it. The entire clinical team Was there an I felt like I had their support. I am in strong recovery right now and I'm experiencing living for the first time in all of my adult life. I'm beyond grateful that I've had this opportunity and that I had The team of clinicians that I did. Recovery only works if you do. I owe this place so much. They never gave up on me even when I gave up on myself. I don't like a lot of their rules. But I realize now that my resistance to their rules was fear. I'm so glad that I ended up getting out of my own way. Recovery is a beautiful thing. And to Doctor Alex, and Lindsey, and Whitley, and the rest of the team, I appreciate what everyone did for me."
