Reviews of Norton Children's Medical Center Emergency Room
"In the past this facility was wonderful for my sick kiddo. However, they dropped the ball this week. Yes, they were very busy. But, busy doesn't excuse rude. The triage nurse explained that they didn't have many beds after our 3.5 hour wait and that it would be maybe 3.5 hours more. My husband had been admitted at Brownsboro Norton. I was sick and so was our grandson. My final straw was when I was asked why would I bring the child with a 102.7 temperature; there wasn't anything wrong with running a fever. I signed him out. Obviously it wasn't necessary for him to seek medical attention. He has been at home in bed since. So sorry to have bothered that Triage Nurse but she won't need to worry about seeing me ever again."
"My daughter has an infection in her thumb and they went above and beyond and treated her like a Queen! Very satisfied with the care she received! They explained every step to her so she wouldn’t get scared."
"Having just moved to Kentucky I was very nervous about trying to find a hospital to take my kids to for emergencies. When an emergency did happen I took my daughter to Nortons and I was not disappointed. From the second we got there the staff was Attrntibe and caring to my daughter. They got her treated quickly and made every attempt to make her comfortable and distract her from her pain. I can not thank the staff enough for taking such great care of my daughter."
"I am currently here, at 4am. My little 3 year old is having severe allergy issues. From the moment we walked in we were both immediately greeted. The nurse behind the “intake “ desk was so kind and sweet to my little girl. We waited no more than 5 min and were taken to a room by nurse, Carlie. She was so friendly and loving towards my little girl. She took her vitals and we are waiting on doctor now. The area is very clean, lots of room. Of course kid friendly programs on the television. As I was typing- doctor came in. All so kind and friendly yet direct and not out to waste our time. I have always taken kiddos to downtown location but will probably make the trip out here if a trip again becomes necessary. Thank you to all who helped us out this evening (morning). We appreciate your professionalism and your kindness. All staff definitely are great with children!"
"The nurse was great and the wait was minimal but I’m not quite sure why Dr Kerry Caperell is a pediatric nurse. Our 7 month old has had a fever of 103.5. He literally spent one minute in our room. Was incredibly rude. Look at our crying baby and told him to relax in a stern, mean voice as if he could understand what he was telling him, which just made him cry more. Told us to just give him more Tylenol, which we have been doing for two days. And then told us to leave. I am highly dissatisfied with this doctors behavior and cannot understand why he would have went into pediatrics when his attitude seemed as if he didn’t even like children."
