"Had a kidney stone a few years back doctors asked me if I'd taken any meds for it that day and I hadn't I'd took a 5mg hydrocodone pill the night before though and didn't think to bring it up also them asking for urine during a kidney stone is pretty standerd running a drug test doesn't really seem like a priority for that senerio so they did there xrays and then came back in admitted that I had a kidney stone but said that it wasnt moving and not in the right spot to even be hurting me then basically called me a junkie and kicked me out 2 weeks later I had to have surgery to have that kidney stone removed and spent 2 weeks with a stint in my bladder if I wanted drugs in Danville at the time the hospital would of been the last place I'd of went if I was a junkie as they claimed. The wonder doctors a st. Joseph did a great job removing it the surgery went fine they made sure I was comfortable while I was in the recover room they gave just they right amount of opiates to deal with the pain both in house and out 3 prescriptions of Dilaudid and 1 of 5mg percocet and I didn't turn into a junkie and nothing bad happend thanks to st. Joe, Ephraim on the other hand could have killed me turns out the surgery and stint were need because it was possible that bacteria had built up in the wound the shard of stone made when it lodged into kidney which could be lethal if it had broke free and basically poisoned my body from the inside. TLDR: these are not people to be trusted they don't have your best interest in mind I'd littery have to be in a car wreck in front of the building and not be able to get anywhere else before I'd let them take me there again"
"Went for labs (3 tubes) Bill was $1600.00 ! Called for itemized bill, told it takes 30 days. Ask for a discount , was told only if you pay within 30 days. So, you want 1600 minus a small discount without showing me what I am paying for? This bill is going to every public office and gov. entity I can locate. This is not right! If you feel you as a hospital cannot control prices, think again, you can make a difference. The customer service rep. was not kind, refused to give out supervisor contact, I have to look it all up. What is happening to us."
"I came in today at around 2:30am on 1/2/24 complaining of chest pains! My paper set in the window for 20 mins and was never pulled! I then called the hospital to see if they could notify someone, the kind man that answered transferred me to triage where another young man answered and became rude and hung up! So I called back and asked for his boss, instead of offering to help me (which no one ever did)! She became argumentative and accused me of lying on the young man that hung up on me! We had words and eventually she hung up on me as well! I was under the assumption that when someone has chest pain that it’s taken serious! But no one took it serious except me and I then had to drive myself to another hospital in another town all while having chest pains! Honestly this hospital gets more and more awful every time I go there, so now I just do the drive to a different location where they actually treat their patients like people! The other hospital I drove myself to literally had me taken to the back within seconds of me walking in the door! I’ll never come back to Ephraim or advise anyone to come to this facility! I wouldn’t take my dog to that hospital for treatment! Worst hospital I’ve ever been to in my whole life! The lead nurse needs lessons on how to defuse situations involving patients in pain! Grow up and do better! Stop lying for your staff and do your job and if it’s too much for you then find one where you actually wanna do your job because you lack compassion or understanding when it comes to patients in pain!"
"I took my husband to the ER with symptoms of a heart attack. Blurred vision chest and shoulder pain. They took labs done a cat scan,X-ray and ekg. Also while they had him out of the room the nurse came in with a urine sample and sit it down. After he got back to the room they never mentioned that he needed to use it. So they never took the test. The Dr come in and said everything looked great and he had vertigo. I knew something wasn’t right. On the way home we stopped and took his blood sugar. It was 593! How did the labs not show that? Why didn’t they check this. The nurses was nice and the guys doing the test was very professional. The Dr however was not and very unprofessional. I know they was very busy and very understaffed but how did they not see that after doing test."
"I read some of the reviews before my husband had his knee surgery and was very concerned because there was so much negativity. Let me assure you that we had nothing less than the best of care!! I say we because Doctor Jeremy Tarter and his team treated us with the best of care, not only did they take great care of my husband they also made sure that I had everything that I needed and kept me informed throughout my husbands surgery. There are no words that can express how truly thankful we are for Dr. Jeremy Tarter and his team at the hospital. Scott and Angie Elliott Russell Springs, Ky."
