"This hospital and its staff are terrible. There is video floating around of staff lying to and about an elderly lady who needed a Covid test. They didn’t care about their oath. Those nurses and staff should be arrested and stripped of their healthcare license."
"Doing away with the nursery had to be the dumbest move ever by any hospital anywhere. After me and my wife are awake for 36 straight hours having a child, being woken up every 30 minutes every 30 minutes, drug through induced labor and changed rooms 3 times. As soon as your baby is born, they're given to you and that's it. The hospital/labor unit does absolutely nothing to help the mother/father's after this long process. They've taken the cost of , and what they care about, and came to the conclusion that the family is the least important thing in their eyes. It's the money. Charge more. Do less.. They do not treat you like you're paying them thousands of dollars, they treat you like they're doing it all for free and you should be grateful.. I have 4 children, this one by far has been the worst, hardest, experience with having a child I've ever had. They've made the whole process nearly impossible. There's zero help from the hospital. They deprive you of any type of rest, on top of 24 hr care of a newborn immediately after birth. I would never recommend this hospital to anyone especially someones first child. This will undoubtedly be the worst experience you could have, and makes wanting to have multiple children in life sound like a joke. They've taken the cost and multiplied it by thousands while taking what they do for you and dividing it in less than half. THIS PLACE IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY THEY ARE GOING TO CHARGE YOU."
"I can only review the 3rd floor of St. Joe East and it's all glowing. My father recently passed away there. He came into 3rd floor telemetry unit from a smaller hospital in eastern Kentucky. He was in terrible pain with a multitude of age related ailments. He was frail, but his first full night there was generally cranky and mean to everyone. He wanted to go home and was not nice about it at all. But his nurses remained patient and unruffled. He became sicker and was transferred to ICU under sedation. He lived for 4 days, and didn't regain consciousness but stayed comfortable. Nurses continued to treat him with precious tenderness. Telling him what they were doing with each test or vital check, told him each time they'd be back and asked us questions to get to know him. They were gentle and sweet to him, and without fail, every time they visited his bedside, asked if we needed anything. When he passed, they asked for an hour to prepare him for funeral home. We gave them the time, and when we got back they had cleaned him, cleaned the room, removed all medical equipment and arranged for a drink and snack cart for family. They even gave us EKG printouts of the last few beats of his heart, such a thoughtful thing. Because living wills weren't in place when he coded, a huge care team, including chaplain, had to be there. Some were called in, early on a Saturday morning and to a stressful situation. Yet they were all wonderful, caring and genuinely interested in delivering the best outcome. CHI administrators. . . you have standouts in the ICU department. RN's Amanda, Heather, and RN Extern Ashton were incredible nurses. RRT Brian was extremely kind and helpful. Chaplain Aleisha is an exemplary human and asset to the facility! It was an awful week, but I have gratitude for the treatment he received."
"First of all, I waited 2 hours to be seen, all the while puking my guts out. When I finally got to the room, they hadn't even started an iv or done a set of vitals within an hour of me being in a room, yet, they were ALL sitting at the nurses station laughing and having the best time ever. I know they are doing things that patients cannot see, but I also work in the medical field and wouldn't keep a patient in agony."
"I have never waited as long as I did to get back to see the doctor. There were 2 people in the waiting area when I arrived. I was coughing so much & my head was busting. We waited for I know 2 hours people were coming in & taking them right back. My husband went to ask how long it would be & the lady at the desk how much longer she said I was next if they didn’t have an emergency. Wait is this not an emergency Room. It wasn’t 2 minutes & they called me back. As we were walking to the room most of the other rooms were empty. I live in Winchester & always come to this hospital cos I have always been treated with care & respect. The doctor came in & he was in my room about a minute. I just feel he didn’t wanna take time to listen he was in too big of a hurry. I didn’t even get a change to tell him my concerns. Very bad experience."
