"The cabins we stayed at were new and very nice. There are no towels, toilet paper, linens, or pillows. It’s on the website, but no mention of this on the Facebook page. The showers were warm at best…. The sinks were hot. There is a tv, but no access to anything to watch. The internet/phone service is terrible. We received no confirmation of our stay via email (they said because they’re in a gulch). How did you take payment if there is no service? Overall it was a nice place to stay while our son was at the JROTC competition, but we’d be better prepared next time."
"Great location for visiting Fort Knox and the metro Louisville area. Nice facilities."
"Camp host was fantastic! Location is great! Nice laundry room. Great sitting area. Overall very nice place to stay."
"We have stayed at this park for a while now and don't know where some of these bad reviews are coming from as they don't explain the bad reviews (just the host is terrible or the new management is bad). The front staff has always been amiable and helpful if you want to know a little about the area. Bathrooms and laundry service are well kept for the age this area is. The quarter machine does not work; we had to get quarters from the front office. I can't speak for the new management as I don't know what the old management was like. The host they are no different than any other host at a military camp. I have been a host on a military base before coming here, and it is only a voluntary position. You shouldn't be upset at the host for their manners if you knock on their house after dark (9 pm or later) or early in the morning (Before 7 am). I'm sure everyone doesn't like to be bothered at those times. As for the other reviews that express, they like to stay in control and don't go straight to your campsite. Of course, like all military campsites, you must sign the paperwork, and some signs say it as soon as you drive into the camp. It's just following the rules. The speed limit is enforced for safety reasons, especially since children play in the park. Despite this, the camp area is very pleasant, and we would gladly stay here again if we were to pass through."
"We like the campground. There is plenty of space between camp sites and some of the sites are large enough for my truck disconnected, 45 foot camper and my jeep all on my pad. Cell service is less than desirable but we have starlink so we can overcome that. Almost all of our friends and things we want to do are in Elizabethtown. There is a fishing lake in walking distance. The facilities are kept and laundry is available. Fort Knox is close by so you have access to commissary and PX if desired. We stay here twice a year and will continue to do so until an adequate campground emerges in Etown."
