"Dedicated Teaching Staff- attentive directors- fun activities for students- well maintained facility"
"If you have a black son, I suggest you find somewhere else to place him. My son and I were stereotyped from the moment I registered him. Here’s a LIST of things they did to my son! 1. He was having a hard time adjusting to their schedule, they ate lunch at 10:30 AM and nap was at 11:00AM. The teacher would spend her entire “break” hovering over my son holding him down. If he is the only child that doesn’t nap and he was such a distraction, why wouldn’t the resolution be to remove him for nap time or give him something else to do? He was only 2.5 years old. 2. I’ve taught my Child flash cards since he was 6 months old - they told me he didn’t know his colors, letters or numbers. I literally had to bring my phone to show them videos of HIM READING sight words. 3. The director would constantly text me every week about any little thing - I’m assuming that she didn’t think I had a job. Everything I told her about my child she disregarded because she felt that she knew better than I did. She stereotyped me for being a young, BLACK mom. 4. My son was only there - barely 8 weeks - they diagnosed him amongst themselves and NEVER ONCE set up a meeting with me (HIS MOTHER) to discuss his behavior if it was such a disturbance to their establishment. I HAD TO ASK TO SIT DOWN WITH HIS TEACHER AND THE DIRECTOR OVER TALKED BOTH OF US. She had already diagnosed my son which she does NOT have credentials to do so. I literally could go on all day - but here’s my point - I put my son in another daycare that was much more diverse and the teachers there actually know what their doing. My son was there a week and he was going to the potty, following directions, reading, helping clean up, etc. All things that WOODFOREST Told me he was incapable of doing. We have to fight for our BLACK SONS and I thought this establishment would help my son, but they failed him. It took time for me to get him from SCREAMING in the morning and trying to take his clothes off because he didn’t want to go there. A 2 year old - feeling the energy of these EVIL INDIVIDUALS. Just know that GOD sees all."
"We LOVE Woodforest Academy and would highly recommend this school to everyone we know. The staff are the best and very nurturing. Our daughter had Mrs. Monica and Mrs. Toya and they both are such sweet and amazing teachers! With the whole pandemic, this school has had good safety procedures and their communication is ALWAYS on point. Mrs. Tara is such an amazing director and welcomed our daughter with open arms and comfort from the first day we toured the school. We are sad to say goodbye this year but looking to still being apart of the Woodforest families on school breaks!"
"Woodforest is amazing! All three of my kids have attended Woodforest. We moved our first child to Woodforest from another daycare when she was 1 year old. We were looking for a daycare that had a wonderful curriculum for early toddlers. My kids have a love for learning and reading that far exceeds other kids their age...I attribute this all to the teachers they have had at Woodforest. This school has been a tremendous blessing to my family. I also love that the school is tucked away, not part of a strip center, with a huge space outdoors for the kids to play. The school has taken all precautions to make sure my kids have a clean and safe environment to learn and play."
"Love Love Love. Both my children attend WFA and love it. We've never had a problem. Definitely feel safe leaving my children in their care!"
