"I'm so disappointed in the direction the meat market is going in. The owner and his son are amazing. Unfortunately, a few of the other employees have made it difficult to shop there. I have walked in a couple times and the young lady working there was digging in her nose, and without washing her hands proceeded to get dry sausage for me. On another occasion, the same young lady was picking at her face, again, and had no intentions of washing her hands. I should not have to ask someone to wash their hands before handling food. I hope things change soon."
"I have been going to this meat market for over 10 years and this is the last time. I have a meat market just minutes away from my house and choose to go this meat market which is over 10 miles from house. The workers there are RACISTS. My money is just as green as their money. Super overpriced and meat today looked like it has been there for weeks."
"WARNING TO OTHER HUNTERS: Took several deer there last year. Cost 1,250 dollars, meat was not properly vacuum sealed, they re vacuum sealed what we could find in the frozen boxes. We ordered more the salame, sausage, etc so i unserstand it cost more. However, we lost most of the meat to freezer burn because of the vacuum seal issue. They were very unorganized and the sausage was just ok what wasnt lost to freezer burn. Took forever to just give them my order after i dropped off because the owner was off hunting and apparently he was the only one that could take the order. He finally called me a week later demanding all kinds money. Not my fault if they didnt take deposit when i dropped off. He held my meat hostage until i paid full amount and i couldnt changed my order cause he supposedly already grinded it up w hog. Then he tried to charge me for the hog meat added when we brought our own hog meat. i would not recommend this place to anyone. I could have bought half a steer for the few deer i had processed. And i took the deer meat cut up, just the meat, no bones. Dont waste your money, this place is overpriced and the owner seems shady."
"I have been shopping at this meat market for more than 3 years and have had best service until today. I called a week ago to make special order for large roast to serve Christmas Eve. I picked up my order today. It was already bagged at pick up & when I got home to put in fridge the sticker said bone-in, but I ordered boneless. I called to report the error- young man on phone asked another person what to do; he returned to receiver & asked me to bring it back in & hung up before I could ask another question. I walk in to return roast, butcher took the roast after I set on counter. He walks back to front counter to confirm what was wrong with roast. After wrapping up the roast, young lady takes roast to register & says the boneless is actually more than bone-in roast & whoever packed the roast, used wrong pricing of bone-in instead of boneless but the correct roast was in the package. Cannot believe they never apologized for error & then wanted me to pay extra for their error. When I questioned this she didn’t offer to do anything. I paid the additional cost & told her she lost a customer. She told me she was the manager- well whoever owns Wilson’s Meat Market needs to train this new manager & new staff on customer service."
"Nice little meat market just south of La Vernia. Got a nine pound beef tenderloin there. Butcher cut it in half for me and wrapped half of it for freezing. Quick, friendly service. Recommend."
