This is the kind of real butcher shop we used to see much more of back in the day and I hope people notice the difference! "My wife and I have been thinking about trying local meat markets to buy better quality meats since we moved to Texas. Being a Saturday, we wanted to get out of the house and decided to check out Wiatrek's. First impressions, friendly and well staffed location. Went in for some jerky, ended up buying their top quality New York strip, and some 90/10 hamburger. We didn't go too crazy not much room in the freezer. However, we wanted to check out the quality of the meat to see if this will be our new meat source. We are cooking the New York strip tonight and having rhe hamburger a few days from now. I will comment on the New York strip once we cook it up. The prices seem more than fair especially if it lives up to the reviews. Also, it they had adequate cuts of meat to suit buyers selection needs. Okay it's dinner time, and I prepared the steaks by broiling them. Very good taste, texture, and tenderness. Satisfied with the purchase. Will shop there again for my meats and support my local merchants."

"Some of the best quality meats you will come across in Texas. They have a selection that will blow your mind. I finally found, kangaroo. After traveling to Australia I’ve been wanting to have it again for a long time now. AND, you haven’t lived until, you’ve had a camel burger. Their boudin is top notch and they may not have the variety of jerky that Buckeys does however, it tastes so much better and doesn’t dry out as easy. Alegator……they got it. Check this place out."
