"Chisholm Trail Bar-B-Que in Lockhart, Texas has the best tasting BBQ I have ever sank my teeth into. Lockhart is the capital of the famous BBQ joints in Texas and this one is #1 in my book so far. The prices are reasonable and the fountain drink even comes with the plate! I highly recommend this BBQ location for your next meal!!"
"We were stuck in town with car trouble. The mechanic next door said this place has the best Bar-B-Q in a town that is supposedly famous for best Bar-B-Qs. Naturally we had to try it out. We had no idea how the ordering process went, but they were so kind and helpful. It is self serve on the many amazing sides. They serve the meat from their multiple options of amazing meats. All the meats were so tender and so delicious. The sides were all delicious. The service was so nice and wonderful. Will definitely eat there again when we go back to pick up our car."
"The bbq was pretty average. I did not dislike it. You do have a larger variety of sides compared to other bbq joints."
"We were in Lockhart and wanted to get lunch. It was Sunday and we wanted to have goof BBQ. They have overall great reviews so we went here. The worst thing about the experience is that it is self serve. We have a large family so that complicates things immediately. The second part of that is that we hadn't been there so we didn't know what to do and no one greeted us and told us what to do. However, once asked they did explain. There was a little complication because we didn't have enough hands to get our food at once and we needed to pay and then go back but they weren't busy and let us do it. (We had small children with us). The sides for the most part looked good, the sides we got tasted good and the meat was delicious. The bread was not homeade that we received but they seemed to not have enough on hand because I did see a homeade loaf available. As with most places right now, they appear short staffed but trying to do their best. The cashier was helpful and kind and that was appreciated! We'd come back but I would highly recommend a greeting for each customer that enters and comes up to the line so that someone can help them figure out what's next or help serve their food if they're not going to be able to carry it/serve themselves. It would definitely increase the quality of service. The only other issue I have is the banana pudding was store bought and not traditional BBQ pudding. It was good but man it could have been great! Thanks for lunch!"
"Lockhart is the barbecue capital of Texas. If you’re going to have barbecue in Lockhart it better be darn good. I had the brisket which was OK didn’t have much of a smoky flavor. The turkey was very good. The salad and the coleslaw were OK and the beans were pretty good. Being in the barbecue capital of Texas, you expect the best and this was just average BBQ. There are too many other excellent barbecue places in Lockhart. I would not recommend this one. What I will give them credit for is a great place to meet and three sides for $13.99 which for barbecue is really good."
