"Good place to come and have birthdays, picnics, and any family gatherings and even bbqs. Just make sure you get there early to get a spot because there is not alot of parking. Also, a good place to come see and feed the ducks."
"This is an amazing place! We found it when we were going to the eye doctor one day across town, and we stopped after, and the kids love the playground. My husband runs here on the trails, and I will walk the trails or around the lake. People fish there, and the toilets are basically decent. Sometimes, no TP...the trails connect to other parks like MLK park. It is a fun and fabulous place! Oh, I have also seen fun bugs, frogs, butterflies, and other animals."
"I visited South Side Lions Park one evening to walk after dining out at a nearby restaurant. The Salado Creek greenway trail system transverses through South Side Lions park on the way to SE Military Trailhead. There are plenty of available trails to hike/bike in the park. There is a large pond that is frequented by casual fisherman. The pond is stocked with rainbow trout in the wintertime. The park is frequented by mostly locals. There are plenty of picnic areas with tables and bbq pits. Parking is plentiful. The park is very dog friendly. However, I observed some loose stray dogs in the park."
"My family and I love this park!! I just wish we, as in the people who visit it, would treat it like the gem it is. So tired of pulling trash, clothes, and other junk of the water instead of the fish that are "stocked" in there. And all you other fishers out there. Stop fishing it dry!! It is not just stocked so just YOU have fish!! Other than it needs a serious clean up and residents need to treat it better, absolutely love it here!!"
"First time coming to this park and I was pretty impressed with everything provided here. Brought my nephew out here to fish and it was very peaceful. The park is very well kept with bathrooms and a pavilion as well. There is a lake that is stocked and a creek on the backside. There looks to be plenty of walking trails and other things to enjoy. I would recommend checking this park out."
