"Fun place to stop by and visit. Five bucks to get in and definitely worth it. The view from the top is amazing. Love the spiral staircase. Watch your head climbing up. There's always a friendly person working."
"Fun place to visit! The spiral staircase is not extremely difficult and easier than many other lighthouses. It only takes a few minutes— less than 5 to climb to the top. But once you’re up there the view is terrific! See the Causeway to SPI as well as SpaceX Launch Tower and Production Site 6 miles in the distance. $5 for Adults; $4 for Seniors, $3 for children ages 5-12. Nice shops, restaurants and taverns nearby. Street parking around the area. Check operating hours for restaurants and shops nearby and things tend to close early here."
"The view is beautiful!! You must be able to walk stairs and climb a small ladder but once you get up there it is breathtaking! Well worth the climb! I have been twice and will probably go again."
"You can see for miles at the top. Has steps to the top then up ladders. When I went it was windy and had an amazing view. Very much enjoyed going up!"
"Went there in 2020, while visiting South Padre Island. Couldn't enter though since we went there on Christmas. Built in 1852, the 82-foot-high Port Isabel Lighthouse is a national historic site. The grassy small hill where the lighthouse sits is ideal for strolling and relaxing. There are also picnic tables available under trees. It is a great photo op with scenic views. A new 3rd Order Frensel Lens was installed in the lighthouse in November 2022. To enter the lighthouse and check out the lens, you have to buy a ticket ($5 per person) from the Keeper's Cottage Visitor Center at the Lighthouse. A true gem in the city of Port Isabel!"
