About the McIvor Conservation Center
McIvor Conservation Center is a travel agency located in Fort Davis, Texas, United States. Due to current health and safety guidelines, the Davis Mountains Preserve, where the center is located, is closed to the public. The preserve, established by The Nature Conservancy, covers nearly 33,000 acres and is home to diverse plant and animal species unique to the region. Reviews of McIvor Conservation Center
"Please remember to check in here. Bathrooms are also available here along with maps. Great hike, very steep grades, and loose rock at Baldy Peak. Recommend take the Limpia chute as it's not as steep. Be extra careful if older the loose rocks are bad. The peak is very steep and tough. We thought this was tougher than Emory Peak."
"Good hike had a fun day"
"Fantastic place. Nature Conservancy is well worth funding."
"Located near the entrance to The Nature Conservancy Davis Mountains Preserve, this is the mandatory check in-out station for visitors. Restrooms, exhibits, maps, road/trail/weather conditions. Advice from naturalists. Only open to public on a limited schedule - see DMP website. No fees but donations appreciated."
"Wonderful place to explore on the open weekends, helpful and knowledgeable staff."
