"Warren is always helpful and patient helping me figure out part numbers and orders. Sometimes I do have to wait a while to be helped, but that is because they are helping people like me figure things out. In any case, this is my go to spot for hardware!"
"I would give a good rating for the selection, however today was one of the worst experiences I’ve had with customer service. The lady working told me she couldn’t make recommendations, because they have had too many people complain after they’ve taken their advice. Okay, then why did she make recommendations to the next customer? And when I asked about the price, she told me my contractor would need to get the price, because if he’s registered with them then he can get a better price. Okay, but I’m the one paying and you’ve given me absolutely no where to start. Nada. I’m the customer. NOT the contractor! Beyond ridiculous. I’m sure you will be fine without my business. Good thing. Because you won’t have it. Find a salesperson who will actually smile at your customers. And a desire to be helpful is always a big plus."
"They had replacement hinges that I could not find at Home Depot nor Lowe's."
"My wife and I are remodeling and adding on to our home in Anchorage. Our contractor sent us to Richelieu to look at hardware for the new 3 bathrooms, kitchen, laundry room, and pantry. We were in the store for 30 minutes waiting while the older lady working the desk was just chatting with a customer. The lady did not acknowledge that we were in the store or even offer for someone else to help us. For the 30 minutes we were in the store we were the only other people there. Just as she finished up with the customer a man walked in and she immediately started helping him (rather - she started talking about a pay lake with him), instead of assisting us. She was oblivious to her surroundings. I asked if she could get someone else to help us since we had been waiting and she said “I didn’t know you needed anything.” Good lord she didn’t even ask! I was standing pretty much in one spot with a portfolio of documents - wonder what she thought I was doing?! Oh well, all the stuff we could have gotten there we can find online - you’d thing these shop owners would realize that it’s the service that’s making them lose business. Funny thing is - she was bad mouthing the business and boss to her first customer saying that she had just gotten in trouble. Then I come on here to leave a review and find out that she’s been this rude to others too. I’m guessing that’s why she was in trouble. As far as the store - the did have a good selection - but unless you live close it’s not worth the drive."
"I’m certain the gal at the desk is good at her job. However, she is just horrible with the customers. I will do my best to never return to Richelieu, even though their product selection is tremendous."
