"While it could use a little TLC, it was a quiet (and free) place just off I-40 for a quick overnight in my campervan. There were other campers here as well. It has a safe and welcoming vibe, good cell signal, and a nearby gas station/convenience store for basic shopping needs."
"We pulled in after dark and there was one other RV there. Easy to drive around but it is dirt and there are some ruts. We ended up driving in and after scoping it out, turned around and pulled up to the dumpster where we could level out and put our slide out. This is a wonderful option that is fairly quiet (some truck stop and highway noise when outside but didn't bother us inside). There is dumpsters for trash and a bathroom which is cleaned daily (hosed out even as we witnessed the next morning). There are no lights in the mens room so make sure to bring your own after dark. We love that this is made available for RVers passing through the area; thank you San Jon! Also, there is a small old playground there as well with teeter totters and those metal animals on big springs and such - reminded me of playgrounds of old so I'm sure use at your own risk."
"Perfect free site! Stayed one night in a tent. The bathrooms were nice and clean. Had a cute small playground and little box full of books. Pretty empty, some noise from the roads though."
"We were a little concerned to tent camp. In the end, it's a great place to stop. Very clean and we felt safe. There is truck noise, but to be expected because it is right off I-40. Bathrooms are flushing toilets and very clean. No light or soap. So bring your own.no water or electric hookup. Covered picnic tables are nice."
