Reviews of Komart Marketplace
"Googled Korean market in Irving but actually Komart Marketplace is in Dallas. They close at 10pm. The place is primarily a cluster of Korean shops, a Barber Shop, Fried Chicken place, Vietnamese Noodle Restaurant and a busy Korean grocery store with a nice informal restaurant inside. If you like to eat Inside the grocery market, you just look at the menu on the wall, with pictures, price, and number. You go to cashier #5, which is the first one closest to the end of the restaurant beside the Restroom. Just tell the cashier the number of the food you like and after you pay, show the receipt to the restaurant worker and they will make your dish. Just sit down on your table and they will call you when your food is ready for pickup. The food is freshly made with fresh ingredients, delicious and authentic. Don't forget to get your drinks in the grocery before you pay for your meal. I also went back yesterday to buy some fresh or frozen fish but i could not find any. There were plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, dried noodles, coffee, tea, bottled drinks and other snacks. However, no seafood. Update 25Nov2023 I went there before they closed on Thanksgiving Day and their sushi were 50% off. That means they make them fresh everyday."
"KoMart Cafe is Big Secret for Gringo Foodies! It's not on GoogleMaps as a restaurant! OtherKoMartMarketplace (Korean housewares) across the big breezeway isn't on the map at all! Back to the Cafe: 1) examine menu marquee photos here for your meal and write down the number(s) to show the checker (once my wife said #50, the checker heard #15). 2) Go into the grocery store for your sides (tempura, etc.) drink, and maybe desert. 3) Check out at register #5 showing your meal choice to the checker. 4) Take your ticket over to the lady at the Cafe counter then have a seat. Your meal will come out with three banchan: kim chee, kongnamul muchim, and oi muchim, and maybe miso soup. Last visit, my wife had Jaeng Ban Jjol Myeon (10) (spicy chewy noodles) and I had RaMyeon (6) (spicy Korean noodles). Good food, interesting atmosphere, and nice (but no-nonsense) people. Excellent prepared foods all around the store. Look deeply for what you've yet to experience."
"Not as "new" as some of the other DFW Asian supermarkets, but the selection and price are great. The food court serves authentic Korean food at a tax free price, so it's good food at an affordable price."
"The chopsticks were fragile to break, and the spicy stew bent my plastic spoon because of the heat. Although I still enjoyed eating the foods because they were delicious and nutritious, it was fine for me since they were healthy and natural to eat as they were handmade. Loved the foods."
"Didn't look too much at the produce as I'm travelling, but it looked great when I walked through. Didnt look at most of the refrigerated but the tofu section was good Pulmuone (firm, soft silken, fried) and lots of pickled veg. The pantry goods section was great with its selection - both quality/quantity - with all of the essentials and extras. Korean cooking basic seasonings, pastes, sauces, grains/beans, kelp, bagged soup, and such. Lots of candy/snacks/instant ramyeon too. I could only find Ito En Barley and Matcha tea, not their normal green, but they had a large assortment of other teas from Korean brands (along with jarred teas like honey lemon)."
