Reviews
"The facility is top notch, but I am writing this review based on my personal experience. I compete in shooting sports. There are many shooting sports in Olympics. As a matter of fact, Winter Olympics Biathlon event was called Ski Patrol and Shooting. There are many competitive shooters who train in public gyms besides me. I do not train with any fire arms, or even models of fire arms. I just hold my hands in front of me, as if gripping a pistol, and practice target transition, reload, and drawing. I never point at any person. Part of the shooting sports require fast and accurate shooting while heart rate is elevated. So the only way for me to train for that is to practice the shooting movements after an intense session of cardio workout or METCON. After a few weeks of classes, a manager came and talk to me. She said that my shooting practice was making some members uncomfortable, even though I was did not point my fingers to simulate a gun, and did not point at anyone. I told her that I did not break any rules based on the policies, and I was not pointing at any people. She asked me to step to the side if I must practice, and not do it in a group. For the next several weeks, I did just that. When I need to practice shooting movements while heart rate was high, I would step to the side and point my hands at a wall, and practice side shuffles and transition. Then today while I was working out, I was approached by the general manager of the facility. He said that even my action of holding hands together in front of me made some members felt intimated. He asked me to stop making any type of shooting sport gestures all together. Politics aside, shooting is still a very broad Olympic sport that can be participated by all age groups. The club should not be in a position to police which sport can be practiced in the facility. What if I find pickle ball offensive and can not bare the site of people hitting the poor plastic balls? Are they going to ban that sport and movements? This issue only happens at this specific Life Time location. I also go to the other locations, and they have never given me any issues. Until this issue is resolved, I would not recommend this Life Time location to anyone."
"I have never had any issue with this gym when I travel to it except for today. If you're reading this today just know that the pool area is about to close at 6:00 p.m.. what's frustrating about that is that I just called like 30 minutes ago and I asked about the hot tubs in the locker rooms and instead of the front desk going oh we do have hot tubs in the locker room however right now they're closed or oh our pool area they're going to close at 6:00 p.m. they didn't do that they just said yeah we've got them. And not only that but they have not updated their website to say oh our pool area is going to be closed or our small areas are going to be closed which is something that they usually do. I am not happy that here on my travels through Texas that I wanted to stop at a gym that resemble mine only to not be able to utilize the features because nobody had any decency to say hey they're not available or they're not going to be available with XYZ time. And I am not happy about it as I have a right to not be happy with it I have been a lifetime member since 2017. I wasted my time my gas when I could have gone to the other one in Dallas. It's a big inconvenience and quite frankly poor customer service and something that I expect that lifetime is better customer service."
"The gym is nice, but the studio classes are so crowded and the spots are very close to each other. I feel like a sardine in a can. FC in Watauga has a stidio 4 times this place's size. I almost feel claustrophobic. Yoga studios have plenty of room though and the classes never fill up. I went to get a coffee at a cafe, and a gen z male working there is so unfriendly, so disinterested and acted like I bothered him with my order. The barista is friendly. But the guy made me not want to come back to the cafe. Overall a nice gym, but for the price, it would be nice to have make more classes available throughout the day, or not have 45 people in a small room."
"A good place that is mostly good (many great people work there) with a few rough spots. Joined in 2018 and after a few months I stopped attending. Joined again in 2021 and have remained a member.ever since. The club is spacious and has a good amount of equipment. Depending on your time to visit you will have no issue with getting into your workout. There are plenty of classes to find what works for your routine. The pools are cool and warm and work really well. It would be nice to have more water classes available. The staff does a really good job of keeping the place tidy but the members can often make it hard on them. The front desk team works hard to accommodate everyone and get to remember every member that regularly attended. A very nice personal touch. The facility is not cheap though so make no mistake about that. You pay for the experience that you get."
"I’ve been a member here for 3 years now. This staff is amazing, the amenities are nice, and it’s an overall cool spot. However, the reason I write this review is that the weight training aspect of this gym has gone down hill as of late. The membership price has gone up over the last 3 years which is whatever but they did not add anything to justify that. The gym has gotten extremely crowded, attachments are constantly missing or being stolen. Overall the training equipment is extremely limited. I don’t want to be paying close to $200 a month to maybe have a chance at using a bench press or a leg press. When the machines here are broken, it takes weeks and weeks before they’re repaired. What bothers me the most though is their alpha classes. These classes take up 60% of the squat racks at the busiest times of the day every day of the week and it drives me nuts. I’ve reached out to their staff concerning these issues but obviously nothing will change. If we are paying premium prices, we should be getting premium services. I’ve enjoyed my time here but it’s getting to a point where I literally can no longer get in a proper workout here."
