"I go to Food Town serval times a week. There are bigger stores near me but I love this smaller place. It has what I need and you can find some great deals as well. I love the fact that they have sackers. The staff is always friendly and helpful too me. They have an actual butcher as well so the variety of meat is pretty good. You will find a lot of cuts you don't see everywhere else. I also love supporting a smaller business that hires a lot of locals"
"I only buy certain items at Food Town. They do have items that other stores may not carry. The produce is not the best, but the loose garlic has been awesome lately! Employees are friendly and helpful."
"On Sat Dec 30, 2023 I was checking out items on the self check out registers. I put in that I wanted $50 cash also to be dispensed to me. The $50 comes out and I see a hand from behind grapping my money! I quickly grabbed the hand and it was a young lady of color that had it! I told her that was my money! She told me that she does not think so and she is the manager and needs to see my receipt! I told her that I had just used my card to pay for thr items and put in that I needed $50 cash! She didn’t believe me and told me she would not give me the money! I told het I needed to see Mr Jasso, the manager! Mr Jasso was busy checking people out in the nearby register! She told him I had hurt her hand as she grapped the money! She was lucky I didn’t break her hand grabbing my money like that without warning! I told her I didn’t know who it was grapping my money, I thought I was being robbed! I told her she was being very rude treating me like a criminal in front of all those people there! Do employees of Foodtown on El Dorado treat Anglos like criminals or just Hispanics? She finally gave me my $50 that she grapped from me after I proved to her that I was not stealing money from them! She didn’t even apologize for being wrong and treating me like a criminal trying to steal money! Treating Hispanics like criminals is not right Foodtown! You just lost a good customer! From now on I will shop at HEB nearby, where they treat Hispanics with respect! The owners should inquire WHY the young lady thought I was stealing money? What was the reason she grabbed my money when the machine dispensed the cash I had asked for in the transaction! She needs to be reprimanded for her very inappropriate behavior! I doubt nothing will be done to her by Foodtown and covered up since the customer was just a Mexican! Carry on, no big deal, he was just a Mexican!"
"First, I like foodtown, but their self checkouts are too loud. I avoid going through them. Next, their grocery bags are very, very, very terrible. They rip easily. A big can of nacho cheese fell on my son's foot because the bag ripped, and it cut his foot and his toenail. Hopefully, it will be ok."
"I like to get Italian Parsley and cilantro from food town since it is cheaper from any grocery stores in the area. Good qualities of vegetables and fruits and great prices. However, do not try to get anything from that place beside produce. Expired products that includes lunch-able which I was going to buy for me kids. ( the date of my visit was August 21, and the expiration date was August 12; pictures were taken and posted with this review). Meat looks blue and green. Cashiers are very friendly usually or very rude, no between!"
