Reviews of Discovery Well Cave Preserve
"Entrance is at Ranch at Cypress Creek Park. Lots of wild plants and birds. Caves are scattered throughout, all blocked off for safety. Some have information about how they were discovered."
"Great 2.6 mile walk or bike ride through the trees. Park at The Ranch at Cypress Park to get on the trail (the Google address doesn’t help). Caves are marked and blocked off but provide a little extra to your walk. We also saw three deer along the path."
"I thoroughly enjoyed these trails in this park. Not paved but not incredibly challenging, most would be able to make it around these trails. Seeing a little signs in history is also pretty cool. Would I found most notable, was the herd of those having their morning breakfast and being completely undisturbed by my presence sitting there enjoying the view. They did not seem afraid they did not run off, it was pretty cool."
"Very interesting trail tucked into a neighborhood. It's fun to walk around and discover the caves! Easy flat walking trail, would be good for kids."
"What a fun lil gem in Cedar Park. We found the best place to park was Ranch at cedar Creek Park because that's where the gate access to the preserve is. This is a different address then if you navigate to where Google has the actual address. Once you go through the gate there are two trails. The whole thing is a loop. The blue trail is a wider, outer loop .We cut back to the red trail and saw more of the caves on the way back. The trail is of a rough, rocky nature that was ovegrown in places but still visible. It is a flat trail with lots of prickly pear cacti and cool rocks along the way. While the road is visible at times , this trail was so natural feeling. We saw a whole herd of deer out when we went in the afternoon! I bet there's good birding in the morning. We didn't see a single other person out there. Good shade stops along the way for our lil guy and dog to take a rest and see the caves. The caves are gated and have an information sign along with them."
