"worse experience ever in Bakery. I never order or go to this store for anything.We placed an order for a cake for my daughters birthday party a week ago and pick time was today 3:00 pm.2:15 they said they don’t have all the products available for the cake. When l talked to the bakery manager instead of admitting their mistake she won’t let any of us to talk and said we will put a picture in the cake or no cake for you.We ordered full sheet of cake.Finally we got a half sheet of cake according to their Choice.Worse customer service from the bakery manager.Someone really needs to talk to that lady.Cake tastes awful"

"The Store Manager, Rigo Lepe, indicated to me that it is company policy to sell deli meat even when its packaging indicates that it will expire within 1 day. I explained that I would not be consuming it all in one day, but He contended that opening the package extends it shelf life an additional 5 days beyond the package’s expiration date. This is incorrect! A customer can get sick eating expired deli meat. I did not feel it would be safe to eat after the expiration date on the package and asked him to open a new package . He finally agreed after it became quite contentious and was told that he would not open a new package for me ever again and insisted that opening a package of deli meat even at or beyond at it’s expiration date would have an extended 5 -day extended shelf life by virtue of slicing and packaging it for a customer. I will never buy deli meat at Tom Thumb as long as they want to sell product that is unsafe to eat. I have been a loyal customer at Tom Thumb all my adult life and value the quality and pricing of their other departments but not the Deli Meat Department. I hope that the departments do not fall into the same pattern."

"I can't say enough bad things about the quality of meat they sell here. I bought 93% lean ground beef yesterday, freshly packaged, it looked so fresh in the outside. I got home and as I prepared to cook it, I pulled the ground meat apart to reveal the inside was completely brown from age. Somehow it didn't have the horrible fishy odor that has accompanied so many of the steaks I've bought here, so I decided to go forward with cooking it. The flavor of the meat was horrific and I had to throw the entire dish out. The prices are insane, I paid over $21 for a little over 3lbs of GROUND BEEF that I couldn't use. Again, this is not the first time. I have bought so many steaks here that are red on the presentation side and completely brown and fishy smelling on the side that's hidden by the packaging."

"Visited Tom Thumb for Starbucks coffee. I purchased 4 coffees and 2 pastries. My delight turned to horror when I noticed GNATS, several of them. They were in all stages of life. In the back of the pastry cabinet, you can see what appears to be cups of water. When I asked why not clean the case, I was informed that they put peppermint oil in those cups to keep the flies and gnats away. Clearly I will contacting the health department tomorrow, today is Sunday."
