"From chicago its known as a splash pad its unbelievable for little kids to get wet under water spraying out of the ground I've never seen such a great place for little kids to play its just magical."
"The scenery was so pretty and the facts about this soldier were incredible! With letters to friends and family across the path. It made the walk so much fun and not to mention the beautiful field of flowers that was there. I can't belive I've lived in the area for months and just now found this place!"
"This is a beautiful park in ALL seasons. Always well maintained and features for everyone- splash pad and play areas for kids, walks near the pond and lake. It’s lovely! I especially like the big, beautiful pine trees!"
"This is a great park to visit. We went to check out the splash pad and it is beautiful. Ample shade for the gown ups and a huge water environment for the kids to explore. The splash area is not big on action (no slides, no big features), but it is big and lots to interact with. I thought the water was a bit warm, but it was like 102 most of the day, so what are you going to do, and the kid thought it was perfect. The adjacent playground seemed very new and it is quite nice. Has its own shade structures which is a big plus for usability. There is a nice selection of percussion instruments installed for making some noise. The 8 note steel drum is pretty sweet. There's also a lawn checkerboard under a shade sail, so gather up 32 kids and have a match. The other amenities looked amazing from a distance, like the pavilion and the Red Barn and the paved trails. We did not explore them, so they'll just get a mention here. The non lawn landscaping seemed to be largely native plants and designed to prevent runoff from the parking lot and other solid surfaces. A great mix of flowers and shrubs. A beautiful park that looks very new and fresh and is a lovely place to while away an afternoon."
