Ace Hardware Irving,

"I was initially happy to have a new Ace Hardware nearby, but now, not so much. I went a few times and when I asked about a Senior or Veteran discount, which is available at every Ace Store that I have shopped at, I was told that their "system" wasn't set up for that. As a result, I would only go there for small purchases only; but would go to the Grand Prairie Ace Hardware if was spending more than $20. After my last visit, I will go to the Grand Prairie for all of my future business, even though it's a little farther and takes a couple of minutes more to get there because the superior service makes it worthwhile. I went to the South Irving location on Monday, February 12, 2024 for a couple of light bulbs, and got there 5 minutes before closing time. The door was locked, and 3 or 4 teenagers were standing around the cash register. When a customer exited, I walked in and was greeted with "We're closed" I asked what time they closed and one of them responded "Seven". I told them that it wasn't seven yet and they just looked at me like I was crazy. I told them that they apparently don't want my business and I left, and don't plan to conduct any more business with this location in the future. Even though it was nearing closing time in this case, I still could have gotten my light bulbs and been out of the door before the actual closing time of 7:00. For those that value good customer service, I would recommend shopping elsewhere, perhaps the Grand Prairie Ace Hardware Store."

"Love this store. Joe is a particular standout. His knowledge of carpentry (he's a gifted wood worker) makes him a trove of knowledge on all things hardware. Plus his deep roots in Irving and Historic District connects you more to this great part of town"

"We just made a recognizance walk through and didn't find anything we needed for now. Ace is always good for finding things we didn't know we needed till we found them so I have great hopes for this store. It is nice to have an Ace Hardware close to home. "A case of profiling. I was initially very excited to see Ace Hardware signs raised in the small shopping center in Irving Texas. I own medical clinic and I am an homeowner in this community which is why I was very excited to see another major store entering my community. But unfortunately, my excitement turned into disgust on December 10, 2023 at approximately 1130 to 11:45 AM. I entered the ace hardware store in Irving Texas. I was greeted politely, then harshly offended by a different store clerk who asked me to leave my very small dollar tree bag at the front desk . I was carrying my purse and a small dollar tree bag. While looking at electric lawnmowers and electric edgers. I don’t know if they thought I was going to fit a lawnmower in my bag or if they simply assumed because I am an African-American female, approximately 5’,2” in height that I was going to attempt to steal – or at least that’s how it felt. It saddens my heart to see new store owners enter a community with such hateful practices. I will no longer be shopping at Ace Hardware. I will return to Home Depot and Lowe’s."
