Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Big Spring

"Got a handicap room for my mom after checking in to a different room where the beds were way too high for her to easily get into. The beds in all of the rooms are taller than the desk. She has a hip problem and usually uses a walker or wheelchair, and even stepping up into her car is difficult sometimes, so there's no way she could climb into the bed safely. We asked for a step stool at the front desk and they said they couldn't give us one because if she fell they would be liable.... but they would also be liable if she fell trying to get into or out of the bed without the step stool. We ended up having to use my brother's suitcase as a booster for her to be able to get into the bed. The bathroom was also not very accessible. There was a hand rail in the shower, but it wasn't in a place where someone could use it to get in or out of the shower/tub, and there was no hand rail by the extremely low toilet. It was spacious though, she was easily able to move her wheelchair around and didn't get stuck in anything. There was also a half-baked "ramp" going into the room which still had an inch and a half curb to get up, which she would not have been able to get over by herself. The handicap parking spots were marked but they had a ramp inside the parking spot itself, how are people supposed to park their car there AND use the ramp in the same spot? And if someone is parked in the other spot with a ramp, what are they supposed to do then? The only difference between a normal room and a "handicap" room here is that the bathroom doorway is wider. I will say the beds were very comfortable, the air conditioning worked really well, and both rooms we had were very clean. The check out staff when we left was very friendly as well."

"Looks nothing like the pictures online. Run down. Pool hasn't worked in a while. I picked this place because of the pictures of the pool and was very disappointed upon arrival. Clerk laughed about it. Sign said remodeled rooms. Ours was not. Stained comforter."

"Hotel was awful. The room had dead roaches, toilet did not flush, horrible smell and stains on the sham. It was so bad i did not sleep under blanket, I did not feel comfortable showering or using restroom. When we addressed with front desk we were given a key to shower and use the restroom in another room, that restroom also had a dead roach. When I check out I asked for manager and Rick at the front desk pointed to the wall behind him. When I tried to tell him about rooms he cut me off and was very dismissive and he said he has my information he will have manager call me and walked outside."

"The lady at the front office was wonderful and very accommodating. Unfortunately, the room she placed us in was disgusting, and the ac was not working. The sink was blocked with what looked like food still in it, the surfaces had visible layer of dirt or dust, the ac did not work ,and the door frame was ripped off and left to the side. The whole town gave a very uneasy feeling and this was our only option for an overnight stay. Definitely not worth the price of over $100 a night."

"Overall a pretty enjoyable stay. The beds were comfortable, everything worked properly, and the shower water was nice and hot. Didn’t see any bugs anywhere. However, there were stains on the curtains and my comforter. I didn’t mind it much, but it’s not something anyone would prefer."
