"Had a haircut here, liked it, would recommend, but the story is important I think. I was visiting San Antonio for work, about two months so I had two haircuts total. The first haircut was rather uninspiring, so I looked up a few places and saw this place. After reading a few reviews, this sounded like the right place to go, a bunch of reviews complaining about this fellows social manner but none complaining about the haircut. Also, it was right next to HEB, and if you don't like HEB you can kindly keep that to yourself you communist. I walked in and the fellow looked up from cutting a customers hair and loudly stated "What do you want?". I looked at him confused by his tone and told him that I wanted a haircut. He immediately went back to cutting hair, he was very focused on it, probably ten minutes later he finished cutting the current customers hair, that customer proceeded to shake his hand and pay him and leave. The fellow then asked me if I wanted to make an appointment and if so when. I was confused because I was the only person in the shop and I told him that I wanted to get my hair cut now if that was possible. He looked at me and told me it was cash only. I told him that was great and I had cash on me. I sat down and he proceeded to cut my hair. This fellow did not say a single word, the only sound was the sound of TBN blasting on the TV, if you don't know what TBN is, apparently it is a religious network of some sort. For an hour this fellow did not say a word to me while he cut my hair and I listened to folks talking about the gospel of our Lord and Savior. I do not like to talk while getting my haircut so this worked out great for me. He cut my hair in the most peculiar way, as if he would react to every hair he saw out of place and immediately rectify even the smallest imperfection, it was wild. He would be fading the left side of my head and suddenly move to the back of my head to get a missed hair then right back to the fade on the left side. Anyway, the hour passed and he showed me my haircut and it looked good from the front, I was not interested in seeing the back because I expected the worst, but the sides looked good so I was not going to complain. I paid in cash, then I tipped him ten dollars. This fellow went from not speaking for an hour and saying maybe one sentence after he finished my cut to him very loudly exclaiming his thankfulness to the Lord and explaining to me that he was sorry he took so long cutting my hair and he just wanted to make it perfect and what a great customer I was and a great neighbor. He did this very loudly, he was saying quite a lot of things, all positive and thankful. I thanked him as another customer walked it and he kept going on about how wonderful life was and such. The next day I went to work still a little worried about my hair cut, but everyone complimented me on my haircut. When I told them the story about my haircut they didn't believe me and I had to show them the previous reviews for this place. If I am ever in San Antonio again I am going to return to this fellow and the Distinguished Gentleman Barber. Amazing cut, great fellow, would highly recommend."
