Reviews of Hay Elotes
"The food is just NOT good. The elote was so dry and had no flavor. All you could taste was the cheese and the cheese they use is horrible. I read the reviews and still decided to give them a try since there’s not a lot of places in Austin that sell white corn but this was a mistake. The ice cream was not good, the elote was worst. The people are kind and fast but even then, I will not go back to this place."
"This place is as close to home cooking as I've found in the Austin area. The elotes were great, the birria tacos were so good, everything was 10/10 except the rice was a little bland. Going back to try some of their cool drinks!"
"Tasty tacos, snacks, elote and raspas. We had the Quesa Tacos and Burrito Grande, both were fresh, hot and delicious. Several small tables for dine-in."
"Food was great but the lady not only messed up our order she messed up on 2 orders after us. If you dont know spanish....good luck. Otherwise great food. Still 4.5. Got vampiros tacos, pastor tacos, nachos, and elote en vaso. They use the white corn not yellow."
"Only reason I am giving this place a one star rating is because of the customer service. My wife and I walked in a let whomever come in after us go first as we didnt know what we wanted so the ladies made rude comments about us in spanish. Spanish is my first language but like I told my wife, it makes no sense getting to their level. Once at the register, we ordered a mango hill, a chicharron taco and a quesadilla. My wife had initially requested a burrito to where the cashier asked her cook in Spanish if they had beans to make it when the cook answered, no, besides, I dont want to make that. The sad part is they had a rush come in where people were literally ordering foods that contained beans and not once were told oh I'm sorry, we are out of this product and cant make that for you.The food was great and so was the dessert but unfortunately I cant provide service to those in that field who think it is ok to talk about the customers in that way."
