"La Belle is my go-to braiding spot. It’s easy to make appointments and the pricing is fair. I appreciate the friendly energy and the ability to communicate my desired braiding style without any issues. The owner is super professional and has even offered to fix a few braids that I wasn’t happy with which was super appreciated! My main advice to customer is- Be sure to be direct, share inspiration pictures as a reference and be clear about what you want and what you don’t want. Part of walking out happy with your style is clearly communicating what you want. Good luck! I know you’ll love this spot if you give them a chance."
"I wouldn’t return and wouldn’t recommend. The two stars are given for braid neatness. The cons. As usual with most African braid shops; the customer service is garbage. If you have a concern; rather than addressing it; they’ll talk about you; in their language amongst each other; which is rude. Secondly, they’re too lazy to part box braids! If I ask for box braids…the parting should be in a box. It looks like a 3 year old parted my daughter’s hair. Third, price switching! We choose French curl hair.. the hair only requires braiding half way and the ends are loose, they chose to charge an extra 40 dollars due to length…when again they did not braid the length of the hair, and we purchased our own hair! I’ll pay whatever price but expect fairness and honesty. We left feeling like they got over on us. Response: Thank you for responding, her hair does look nice, and she does have long hair, understandable on the price, but the parting was inconsistent and messy. If she wants to wear a half up or down, or buns it wouldn’t look right because of the parting. I also went in once before box braids and no one wants to take the time to actually make clean straight parts. Please don’t take offense when I say the “ African Shop” it’s the customer service aspect…people know when your discussing them, even if it’s in a different language. Thank you and be blessed, just an opinion."
"I’m very happy with hair, they did a great job taking care of what I was looking for. I’m 9 months pregnant and I wanted my hair, nice, neat, tight, and will put together/ out of my way for baby. They worked really fast. With 2 people on my head. Both lady’s were nice, especially the one doing the front of my head. I will be back, most definitely."
"Edited review to owner’s Response: Ladies and gents there you have it. The owner has the audacity to disrespect someone who paid for an awful service. If you want to go to an establishment where the owner will ridicule you for paying a service that they “offer” then please go here. I was not rude to the braider, she couldn’t understand English thoroughly so she was unable to communicate back to me. If you noticed, the owner didn’t even respond to anything I said on the quality of the braids, all she’s talking about me being rude and my hair stinks. I paid $80 for a wash and braid down. If someone pays for a wash then yes, their hair is dirty. As a “salon” you are supposed to wash the hair until the hair is completely clean and free of smell which they didn’t do. She only used shampoo twice then conditioner once. My hair was still smelling after she was done and I could smell it myself but obviously if we both can smell it then hence she doesn’t know what she’s doing because anyone with common sense would’ve washed until clean. You are a salon, if someone’s hair is dirty and PAYS for that service you should want to welcome them with open arms to help them, not degrade them. If my hair was “so” dirty, why didn’t you refuse service and proceed to offer your so called “services”? I never scheduled an appointment. Yes I called you in the morning with other salons to ask for pricing, you were the only one available so that’s why I came on my own terms around 6pm. You are acting like you waited on me all day. Aren’t you open to all day anyways? (another red flag) Yes, I called around 5pm before I came that I was coming since she was available. She was a last resort btw. I will never use a stylist that you will refer because that means they will probably give me the same results. The $80 wasn’t issue, it was what came out of it. Garbage. “My hair stinks”. Your whole salon stinks and smells like expo and cargo. Your salon is outdated and empty. THIS IS THE WORST $80 I’VE SPENT IN MY LIFE. Just look at these corn rows. The worker took a picture of my head in their shop as you can see. They are so big and not neat. You can’t even see the parts. I specifically told the worker to make them small because I'm going to wear a wig over this and she still made it this way. I even showed her a picture for reference. The owner of the shop is very rude. The worker was blow drying my hair and I asked her if she can apply heat protectant to my hair. The owner said “We are a braiding shop, we don’t have that here”. That was the most stupidest response I’ve ever heard in my life. What does you being a Braiding shop give you a reason not to have heat protectant? You are applying heat to my hair. The comment was unnecessary, she could’ve simply said no. Please take your hard earned money elsewhere."
