"This is a very honest and transparent review of Good Hair Day Salon in Duncanville, TX! I recently moved to TX and searched for a salon and I read reviews. This salon had many positive reviews and I checked out the stylist’s portfolios. I scheduled an appt for a few days out and paid the deposit. The atmosphere of the Salon was every nice, clean and relaxing. Everything seem to be perfectly in its place. I met Ladonis, the stylist and we conversed while she did my hair. I informed her that my hair was damaged and I need a relaxer and a short hair cut so my hair so it can grow back healthier, she seemed very personable and polite. The cut: my hair cut was cute but not for me. She is supposed to be an experienced stylist so i’d think an experienced hairstylist would know to match a hairstyle to the shape of a person’s face. That did not happen and the haircut I received was definitely not for me. She cut off too much of my hair on the top. I showed her styles that I liked and she didn’t do anything similar to those haircuts. Even though the cut didn’t match my face and wasn’t the best, it wasn’t a deal breaker so I didn’t mind coming back. My total was $173. I have no idea how a relaxer and a cut comes to nearly $200. When I paid, I scheduled another spot for Saturday, December 9th at 12pm. Long story short, I later learned, she never ever scheduled this appointment for me for whatever reason. I called the salon on 12/1 to confirm I have the right date and time and the young lady stated they don’t have an appt for me at all and she said if I had an appointment scheduled, I would have received a confirmation emailed, which I never received! This means Ladonis lied about scheduling the appointment and if I didn’t call to verify, I would have potentially showed up on 12/9 without an appointment scheduled. If she didn’t want me to return for whatever reason, that’s all she has to say. Then, after I spoke with the young lady, Ladonis RANDOMLY scheduled an appt for me for 12/8 at 5:30pm. I never agreed to that so I cancelled! I wouldn’t want to return to this place! No one has time for games and nonsense. This is my first impression of this place so I’ll never recommend or return to this place!"
"I have been getting the two strand twist for several months with Amira. She is the sweetest and eager to make sure I am pleased with the styles she has given me. I don’t like spending too much time with my hair anymore and Amira knows exactly what I want. She is a good listener and prompt. Amira is my stylist for life."
"I have been waiting trying to decide if I was going to post a review. Unfortunately, I have decided to post because I’m sick of the double standard. I thought I found the perfect stylist. I loved how she was able to style my natural hair and I truly loved being able to get my lashes done and I absolutely love that I am able to get a weave although it didn’t last on me. I kinda think the stylist designed it to come down so I would come back in to get it touched up. That is a good thing because we never keep our weaves up. The issue: I made an appointment and ran into some complications. I communicated with the stylist and needed to push my appointment back two hours. She RELUCTANTLY did and promptly charged me a 25 dollar fee. I accepted the fee because I was in the wrong for needing to push back my appointment by two hours. She said it was a rescheduling fee. To my horror, I had a financial issue on this same day. I ended up needing to cancel. The stylist promptly reminded me of their cancellation policy and charged me the entire hair style amount. It was 110 including the original rescheduling fee. I was going to get a flexi rod set with my hair. The stylist said this is her lively situation and she was not able to give another client my spot and she had to charge me for canceling on the same day. Double standard: The appointment before this one, the stylist ran behind by an hour and did not give me any discount and I didn’t complain. She apologized but because my time is tight. I had to pay my sister to pick up my son. The fact that the stylist was running so late it cost me extra money. Also, let’s not forget that the sew-in weaves both times came down after about a week and I never complained nor did I tell the stylist that she either was not as good with see-ins or she purposely did it so I would come back. Question: why is it okay for the stylist to be late.. botch up the style and complain about my actions and don’t hold themselves to the same standards. Also, I have booked with this stylist 4 times and I did not have any issues but this one appointment. The stylist sent me two text messages reminding me about the $110 and she texted me at 7 am on Saturday morning to remind me again. She also put in the online app that until the $110 is paid in a form of an invoice, the client will not be able to book. To conclude, the money is not an issue. I like bundles and sew-in weaves. I can easily spend $400 or more on my hair at one time. Getting my natural hair done is what I do to give my hair a break and to save money when things are tighter. I will be disputing the charge and I will never return to this salon and stylist. It sucks because had she been just a little patient with me as I have been so accommodating with her downfalls, we could have continued our business relationship. Please hold yourself to the same standards as you expect for others. Jessica"
"The pamper I received was wonderful. Please everyone listen @ observe your body if it don't feel right, don't ignore it, get it checked out. It's not just October for breast cancer it's everyday someone may be diagnosed. Thank you "good hair day"."
