Reviews of Cyclone Anaya’s
"Feb 11: had brunch around 2pm. Place was empty. Good brunch menu - well priced and large portions. Ask for the habanero sauce!"
"Houston has a fantastic selection of Tex-Mex. Cyclone Anaya’s. Is not among them. Jumbo shrimp half the size of the head of a dinner fork. Must be a new definition of jumbo I’m not familiar with. Large $20 margaritas that were far more ice than drink. I literally took 7 sips and it was gone. That’s $3 a sip. My waiter didn’t even know what a Serrano pepper was. Both baskets of chips we were served contained more pulverized chips than edible ones. Sunday night at 7p and there were 4 tables sat. Service was horribly slow yet there were more servers than patrons. Waiter actually saw our empty salsa dishes twice and never brought salsa until asked. Spend your money elsewhere. Worst $100 dining experience I have had in a good while."
"I had veggie burrito! It was good! But the best part of the day was the salsa! I’ve never eaten anything like that salsa ever! But the worst part of all Mexican restaurants in USA is a complete lack of imagination/variety for the entrees! I’ve almost never seen anything more than the same 4-5 items! Even the rice is almost always made in chicken broth! However the service was good. Would I go there again? Possibly no!"
"My Honey and I came to the Rice Village location for a nice lunch. We were NOT disappointed. The atmosphere is very welcoming as the host. We were seated right away and greeted shortly by our waiter Osario. We both ordered the power bowl, I had mine with shrimp and he added tuna to his. It was made fresh and tastefully prepared. We enjoyed ourselves so much I booked a reservation for my mom’s 60th birthday dinner here so we’re guaranteed to return to this location!"
