Reviews of Lucy
"Have been here a couple of times. Great food and very kind staff!"
"They have good food, but very poor service. I came here with a friend and upon walking inside, it wasn't packed like I thought it would be. It appeared that they had a chaotic waitstaff. The lady at the bar said, "Do you want to sit in the loft?", but then another said to sit in the booth. So, we found a spot in a booth. Initially, I thought the service would be great as a waitress came quickly to our table to bring water. There was a group of young children playing very close to our table. They were pretty loud as they played tag with each other. As the waitress was taking our order, she stopped to tell the children to calm down several times. We ended up ordering the vegetarian platter, two orders of sambas, and I ordered a hot tea that I did not have throughout the whole meal. Our waitress avoided us like the plague. She was terrible. Upon trying to hunt someone down to get our checks, what seemed to be the owner, she visited the table (finally!) and asked how everything was. I truthfully told her and told her that I hadn't even received my hot tea yet. So, to make things worse, she brought out my hot tea, but by that time, I was ready to leave. She then says that the hot tea is on them, well good because I asked for the tea 40 minutes ago at the start of our dining. I hate this Ethiopian restaurant and will not be back. The service was the absolute worst. Also, they should invest in better signage because I drove past this place twice and wondered where it was because the sign was small and the restaurant did not have any curb appeal."
"Excellent Ethiopian and Eritrea food and atmosphere. The price is excellent for what you get and they have Great traditional Tea not the American type that comes in a bag. They also have traditional Honey Wine and food flavor is amazing. I got off the plane from the Carribean Islands and came straight here to eat and enjoyed they have nice smoke aroma in the air I enjoy. They're waiters/bartenders are very friendly, kind and they give you time to breath and don't pressure you like most restaurant waiters/waitress. They are very respectful and earn their tips. God bless them and this business. #©️GoodyHoodyInspectorApproved"
"Enjoyed our meal here. This is the first Ethiopian restaurant that I’ve been served rice with the meal. Staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. We ordered 2 vegetarian (Mesir wot and kik Alicha) and one meat entree (doro wot). The sambusa was very good—highly recommend. Vegetarian friendly. Vegan friendly."
"I've always wanted to try out Ethiopian cuisine and Lucy's was my first. It was a good experience but didn't quite hit the spot. The interior ambience and the hospitality was spot on though. As an Indian, I could draw some similarities with Indian cuisine. The Good: 1. Friendly waitress who took the time to explain the menu to us newbies. 2. The ambience and decor is a fusion of Ethiopian culture and modern look. 3. The food was good. Tasted like it was made fresh and the quantity was sufficient. But... Could Be Better: 1. ... the food was not as flavorful as I would have imagined it. Perhaps my Indian taste buds have ruined it for me. 2. Some of the meat dishes we ordered could have more "meat" in it."
