Hartz Chicken Buffet

"I went in as I do sometimes after work. At 7:20 p.m no rolls heard the kitchen staff tell 3 different customers there was no dark meat but if they wanted it 20 Minute wait. Food was not good at all I paid 15 from just wing and coleslaw because everything else was disgusting. It seemed to me they were. More concerned with leaving than customer satisfaction. Will not be ."

"I will admit I was pleasantly surprised! It has been 15 years since I have eaten at a Hartz. I moved back to Houston six months ago and it has been on my mind. Now admittedly, most of the locations need a freshening up on the decor and aesthetics. Clearly there has not been a change or update to the brand so the places look like they are out of the 90s. That being said, this location was very clean and well-staffed. I went at lunch, and the food was hot and fresh and the buffet area was being kept clean and restocked by employees. The food was pretty good for what I was expecting! If you are needing a fried chicken and catfish fix, this place might be for you. There were lots of delicious country sides as well. They even had chicken and dumplings, baked chicken, and fried chicken livers. And again, the food was fresh and hot and the place was clean and neat. That is about all you can ask for these days. There is also a machine by the door for free ice cream cones as you leave (if you by chance have any room left in your belly). So, I would highly recommend this place if you just have that hankering to buss down on some good old southern cooking and then take a long nap! For the buffet and drink I paid $14.99."

"I consider myself a fried fish expert and this place has the best fried fish I have ever had. They don't use catfish they use a white fish and it is delicious. Their baked chicken also very tasty. So glad my friends told me about their fish. Crispy and fresh. Give it a try you won't be disappointed"

"The food was great! My only issue is that I had a ROACH frozen in my cup of ice! The cashier took my cup and threw it away and didn't offer me another cup. I spoke with the Manager and explained to him that my mother dines here every Sunday with her brother and that this was my first time here ever and I was treating my mother to lunch. He issued me a full refund and apologized for the cashier's rudeness. I appreciate his gesture of kindness but I won't be back."
