Kolache Factory 1500 Research Forest Drive, Shenandoah, TX 77381

"I like the kolaches, but many times they don’t get the order right. Today we were short 1 ranchero, and got cherry instead of peach. It cost $25 and had 5 items, but ordered 6. They don’t give a receipt so you can’t prove that they short you. Last time I was missing 3 kolaches from my box. I ordered 8 and only had 5. They argued that they were all there but luckily I made sure to have my receipt and I checked my box before I left. Today I got the Texas apple croissant, and it was full of bacon. It didn’t say bacon on the description and I don’t like bacon, so I had to throw it away. They have good kolaches but they miss on customer service."

"Bad experience. I called in an order because I couldn't get the app to work and it was difficult to understand the worker over the phone. Also a little concerning that, until i told him, he didn't even ask my name or even confirm where i was calling. When I arrived my gift card was not working and I was told that I needed to use something else. I had to point out that if the magnetic strip wasn't working that you needed to put the code in and tada it worked. To top it all off, the food was COLD! NEVER GOING BACK TO THAT LOCATION. There are plenty of other restaurants to choose from in that area."

"Didn't know what to expect labor day at around 10:30... Sold out of most of their inventory but managed to get some stuff that was very good. Guy behind the counter was sick and really needed to go home... Not serve food."

"The quality of the food is good; but this store in particular often opens late. I come by after work at least once a week, between 6:10 and 6:20 and probably 40% of the time the door is locked. A small line will form out front but the worker insider doesn’t acknowledge that anyone is outside waiting at all. Eventually the worker unlocks the door and just walks away without acknowledging anyone outside or even opening the door. The kolaches are good, but don’t expect service with a smile, and if you’re an early bird on a tight schedule, maybe try somewhere else. There is another location on 1488 that is the total opposite that I like to stop into when I’m in that area. They’re very friendly, have enough people working, and have an efficient process in place for running the store. I was honestly impressed by how well things were run at the 1488 location. The difference in management/ownership styles is very clear."
