"I went in as a new patient due to my new health insurance. In the first place, Dr. Acorn was extremely late for my appointment, which evidently was right up against their closing time. She rushed through my exam in a major hurry, and quickly recommended a deep cleaning and four cavity fills. I was shocked, as I take very good care of my dental health and have been fortunate to have regular check-ups and cleanings my whole adult life. No dentist has ever recommended so much treatment to me all at once, much less did my last dentist give any indication I was on a path to need this much care only 4 months ago. Sure enough, I took my x-rays and the suggested treatment plan to a friend who is a dentist, and got a second opinion, which was that there is no scenario where I am in need of almost any of the items in Dr. Acorn's treatement plan. If I had blindly accepted the recommendations, it would have been over $1200 in unnecesary dental expenses. I wouldn't recommend this practice to anyone and I won't be returning!"

"Sometimes checkout can go a little slow, but that’s really my only gripe. I’ve gone to many dentist in my life and this is one of few that haven’t tried to get me to pay for unnecessary things; claiming I had cavities I didn’t, or that my teeth are in bad shape when they’re definitely not. I used to dread going to the dentist for this reason, but great expressions has been good to me for the last several years and I trust them with my teeth. The staff is friendly and know what they’re doing. I dread the day I have to switch dental offices."

"I went in on 1/3/2024 as a new patient. Prior to the visit, I received 5+ reminders (text, phone, email) about the appointment which was not necessary but appreciated. During the routine appointment, a handful of items were supposed to be quoted - a special cleaning for gum health, a tooth implant, a few fillings. The cleaning wasn't going to be done same day since I was a new patient and cleanings were being booked out to April/May. Interesting. Already feeling disappointed about the additional work that was recommended, I sat in the chair for about 20 minutes waiting for someone to come in to review quotes with me. I was in a room near the front desk and could hear the ladies up front chatting and watching either their phone or computers. Finally, the dental assistant came in and apologized and asked me to go in the lobby so they front desk team could physically "see me" and help me. I sat up front for 10 more minutes and the blonde lady up at the front said she would make it easier and just email me the quote since it would take a while. That was over a month ago and I never heard back via email or phone. I am very disappointed with the overall experience and lack of communication after the appointment. I essentially just went in and paid $30 for x-rays. I will not be returning."

"Easily the best place in Austin to get a professional cleaning, filling, or any other kind of dental services. You’ll be greeted by the lovely and friendly Brenda at reception. Stacy is my hygienist and the dental cleanings she provides are always thorough and reliable. She performs with the highest amount of attention to detail. Mrs. Acorn did my first filling today and she was awesome. I felt no pain whatsoever and I wasn’t even numbed for the procedure. It was quick and easy! The staff is amazing and the service is unmatched. This is the only place I would recommend people to go for Oral Care!"
