Reviews
"This is authentic halal restaurant in Highland Park is unique with large menu selections. I tried this place multiple times, for business lunch and casual dinner and take out. (They also provide a delivery) I always had the juicy kebabs which were grilled to perfection. Next time I will try their fish dishes . We also love their desserts. One of the best restaurants in Highland Park."
"This was our first visit to Ordo, and I would say that it was a 3.5-star experience. This again shows that google maps needs half stars... But, back to the review... Overall, they did not do that much work to the old restaurant that was there in the way of decor. It's nice, but maybe could use a bit of Uzbek art or something to show off what it is. Don't get me wrong, they have tapestries that I assume are Uzbek, but still seems a bit Spartan... The service was okay, slow, but okay. I'm thinking because it is a new restaurant, it's just a case of the opening "yips", but definitely leaves a lot of room for improvement. The food was good and definitely worth going for it. I am willing to overlook some of the service issues... We had mushroom soup, chebureki (fried meat pie), and vareniki (Uzbek pierogi) as appetizers. All were delicious, but the standout was the chebureki. As for entrees, we had the Beef Plov (Uzbek Biryani), Lula kebab, Chicken Shahlik, and Shakarap (Tomato/Onion/Herbs) salad. All were very good, but the Plov and Lula were the winners. The salad was an amazing accompaniment along with the heavier meat and rice dishes Overall, a new restaurant, with a lot of potential. Promising start with good food, but I hope the service improves. I will be back and will update my review accordingly."
"It is an elegant, pleasant restaurant with cloth tablecloths and a rose on each table. Tea brewed from tea leaves in its own glass decanter, luscious lentil soup and a nice sized Greek salad ( shared), and the garlic shrimp appetizer made for a lovely lunch."
"A great new addition to Highland Park. Great for a Saturday date night but could also work for a casual weeknight dinner. Food was delicious and portions were huge. I could eat an entire plate of the fried eggplant in the eggplant salad. Meat was very tender. Service was very friendly and nice, but it was a little slow and timing was off. We waited quite a while for appetizers to come out, and then main course came out while we were still working on appetizers."
"I recently dined at a fantastic restaurant offering Central Asian cuisine, and it was an exceptional experience. The atmosphere exuded warmth, and the decor reflected the rich cultural heritage of the region. The menu boasted a diverse selection of dishes, each bursting with authentic flavors and aromatic spices. From the tender kebabs to the flavorful pilaf, every bite transported me to Central Asia. The attentive staff added to the overall positive impression, ensuring a delightful dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone seeking a taste of Central Asian culinary delights."
