Reviews of Mountain Laurel Dental Care
"A Mixed Experience with My Stomatologist I recently had a dental procedure that involved getting a crown, and overall, I am satisfied with the outcome. The crown looks and feels great, showcasing the skill and expertise of my stomatologist. However, I couldn't help but feel a bit uneasy about the excessive use of X-rays during the process. While I understand the importance of diagnostic tools in dentistry, it seemed like more X-rays were taken than necessary. I would appreciate a more transparent discussion about the need for each X-ray and a better understanding of how they contribute to my overall dental care. In conclusion, my stomatologist delivered excellent results with the crown, but I hope for a more balanced and open communication regarding the use of diagnostic procedures in the future."
"My in office experience was overall fine, however I experienced multiple red flags and don’t feel that this practice had my best interest at heart. I was seen immediately at my arrival time which I always appreciate, and everyone was polite. My biggest concern is that I was told I had cavities and periodontal disease that other dentists in town did not diagnose me with and confirmed I did not have. I am very uncomfortable with any attempt to treat and charge me for services not needed, particularly those that require putting holes in my teeth. Ultimately I was able to get the services I did need elsewhere, for 1/3 of the cost I was quoted here and 1/3 the number of visits Mountain Laurel required. Their services are far more expensive then others in town which is significant to me as I was paying out of pocket, and also seem to take significantly longer with more visits then other dentists require. While getting my x-rays the hygienist did not capture an xray correctly and said she would redo it. In radiography practitioners are explicitly told to perform as few X-rays as possible to get the needed information as to not unnecessarily expose patients to radiation. I told the hygienist I didn’t appreciate having an extra xray and she did not end up performing it when I contested, which I appreciated. However I do not appreciate that lax attitude, particularly when you’re shooting radiation at my head. It was also very easy to pick up on tension between hygienists and members on the care team, which while not major was very uncomfortable as a patient. Lastly, it took nearly 2 hours for my “treatment” which ended up only being 3 types of imaging and questionable diagnosis's that required two follow up visits. Ultimately I left my appointment with an icky feeling and am glad I trusted myself and looked elsewhere for care."
"This was my first visit to this Dental Care Office. The staff was welcoming and competent. The office had even more technology than I have seen before. I would give five stars except for two surprises. 1. The five star rated Doctor I had selected has moved to another office and I was told the day prior to the appointment. 2. I thought I was coming in for a six month teeth cleaning. Never got there, most of the time was spent mapping out the health of my teeth. I had previously had all my history and prior Dental Clinic data forwarded to Mountain Laurel."
"I chose Mountain Laurel Dental Care as a contracted provider for my Delta Dental insurance plan. I went in initially for routine check-up and really liked both the hygienist Amy and Dr Christy. They were so nice and very informative. I had to return for a follow-up to take care of a problem and while I wasn’t excited about that, Dr Christy and her dental assistant both made me comfortable and provided excellent care throughout the visit. I am really glad I picked Mountain Laurel Dental Care based on the overall experience of my first 2 visits there."
"The girls in the office are so sweet! Becca was so gentle with me and made me feel extra comfortable. The receptionists always greet with the sweetest smiles. And the doctors really listen to what I wanted/needed and made it all happen in 2 visits!! Thank you Mountain Laurel for being my new forever Dentists :)"
