"Some years ago I took my Toyota to a dealership to have recall repairs done. While they had the car they noticed I had a problem with my suspension. Made me sign a waiver when I didn’t have them repair it for +$800! I just drove gently and hoped my luck would hold til I got some $ together. My AC quit blowing cold a couple years back and another mechanic we patronized because was “musician friendly” estimated +$600. I thanked him and said I’d roll down the windows.
