"He did great with my car! For a reasonable price that I could afford, when it was going to cost me $2000! I will definitely go to him again! He only had my car one day too!"
"I would steer clear of this place. I took my sons truck to Alan because the rear end was making a noise. Alan took it for a test drive and said the rear end needed to be replaced. I sort of thought that's what was going on so I agreed. He quoted me $2,300 for the rear end which was supposed to include all new seals, brakes and wheel bearings. I thought it was a bit pricey, but really had no alternative. Alan told me it had a 30 day, 3,000 mile warranty on the rear end (because it was a used rear end)Alan seemed like a very personable and knowledgeable mechanic, so I felt comfortable with him, and his recommendation. My son was deployed overseas with the Army so I was trying to take care of things before he returned. I picked the truck up and decided to take it to Louisville for a short trip to see how it would do on the road. The rearend started leaking in Louisville, so I immediately called Alan. He said to get it to him asap so he could look at it. I felt good about that. He told me it was the seal on the yoke (or something to that effect), and he would take care of it, because it was under warranty. He didn't sound pleased about doing the extra work on it, but he told me he put in a heavy duty seal this time. I asked him numerous times if the truck was good to go on the road, and he said it was ready to go. My son's wife decided to take the truck to NC so it would be there when he returned from deployment. She called me with about 3 hours left and said the rear end was again leaking badly, and didn't know what to do. Her father helped her get it to North Carolina and park it for a few days until I could get there and look at it. I took it to a local mechanic who was SHOCKED that rear end was even on the truck, and how it could cost $2300. He took off the wheels and showed me the wheel bearings that were caked with mud (they should have been brand new), along with several other things that should have been replaced on the rear end. It cost me $1,000 for the repairs, and I asked them for photos and the bill. I called Alan before they even did the repairs, to see what he recommended, since we were still under the 30 day period of the warranty. He said he would call the place he got it from, and call me back the same day. That's the last I have heard from Mr. Alan. I tried numerous calls with no response, and even a visit to his shop which he wasn't there. After doing my research, I found out I could have got a new, or close to new rear end for about $800-900. He took a used rear end from a junkyard (which was ok), and slapped it up in the truck, without replacing the parts he said would be replaced. I thought I found a mechanic I could trust and take all my vehicles to, but now I'm writing this..........Alan should have paid for the repair to the rear end for the parts he was supposed to have replaced."
