"He does not have an answering machine and does not answer the phone often. He will perform work without notifying you in advance of the problem and the cost. He had my cell number. Never once did I receive a call to notify me of cost prior to fixing it. What business does that? My car mechanic will get authorization a $5 repair to my car....but he did not bother to get authorization to fix $112 worth of issues on an old tiller?? I took the old tiller there for an estimate to see if it was even worth fixing. It hadn't ran in years. Called 20+ times and physically drove back there to speak with him to ensure that he understood it was an estimate only when I had difficulty reaching him. Spoke to him on the phone a week later (after multiple tries) and again stressed estimate while asking for time frame - I had a garden to till for spring. A month later he called me and stated it was fixed for $112. The tiller isn't worth $50...it's 40 years old. I could have bought a 30+ year newer model for $150. The only good out of this situation was when I spoke to him about it and told him I was very tempted to just leave the tiller there, he reduced the cost of the repair to $75 "to try to do good by me". At that point, I had paid someone $150 to till my garden due to the length of time he had it. The ONLY reason why I picked the tiller up was that I am an honest person and it did not feel right to leave it. Not happy at all with the transaction. When posting the situation on my Facebook site, I was told by other friends that they had encountered the exact same scenario with this business as well. I will not do business with him again. For those of you who are looking to do business with this company, I would highly advise you get in writing when dropping off your item your exact expectations and follow up often, demanding authorization of charges prior to it being fixed."
