"I had an enjoyable lunch here today. It is within walking distance of the Kentucky International Convention Center. The vegetable platter is a nice vegan option. The coffee is roasted and ground by the owners and was wonderful. The service was courteous and quick."
"Abyssinia is the most authentic Ethiopian food I’ve had in Louisville. It’s a family owned restaurant that serves its customers with joy and care. You can dine-in, order online, get it delivered through Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Grubhub I love Abyssinia food!"
"Went with my wife and we ordered spicy lamb tibs and a combo platter. The lamb wasn’t spicy and everything was just kind of bland. Easily the least flavorful Ethiopian food we’ve ate. The food also came out on a cold plate so all the food was cold to lukewarm when it arrived. Maybe it was just an off day but I don’t want to go back and find out."
"Clean, very nice staff, great service, relaxing atmosphere. Food was delicious. We tried the combo platter so that we could try a little of everything. Samosa was delicious! We got the medium and hope to try the hot heat level next time. Very impressed!"
"Super awesome local business from Ethiopia that I cannot give enough appreciation for bringing their incredible to us so well. Everything was cheap and authentic, they treated us very well and the environment was pleasant, and the food was even better than I expected. My only tiny complaint would be that the service was a bit slow, but that was because they truly an unusually large crowd when we came, however they still served us at a good pace (it really wasn’t that slow). I wish I could’ve gotten everything, but I got the spicy lamb tips with split peas and red lentils - can’t think of any criticism, it was all so much better than I imagined. Love this place and I’m not from Louisville, but I sincerely hope I can come back some day."
