Diver Down

"Been to Diver Down several times. Nice dinners, reasonably priced. Very friendly waitress, great service. This area of Illinois is very sparcely populated, so not a lot of restaurants around. Diver Down is the best bet within 50 miles."

"This is a great place to stop for dinner if you’re in Golconda. The atmosphere gives you those rivertown bar vibes, and the service is fantastic. They’ve got a dining area and a bar on the other side. We had the catfish and fried okra, and they were absolutely fantastic. The star of the show was the fried mushrooms and the fried pepper Jack cheese triangles. The mushrooms are probably some of the largest you will find anywhere. You could probably make a meal out of just appetizers because they’re delicious and the portions are huge. A highly recommend you add this place to your weekend river trip agenda."

"Rode here today. Nice little place. The food and service is alway excellent. Fried mozzarella and mushrooms are the best I've ever had. We had the BBQ Bacon Burger and the Patty Melt. Great place to take a drive for lunch or dinner!"
